Christine Ha was born in 1980 in Houston, Texas. She was diagnosed as neuromyelitis optica, which made her completely blind by 2007. She is not only an excellent home cook, but also a Master of Fine Arts student for fiction at University of Houston's Creative Writing Program. In spite of her blindness, Christine still wishes to pursue her cooking dream. When not at her desk writing or on the couch reading, she can be found in the kitchen cooking food.
Christine shares many stunning dishes on her blog named The blind cook and via this blog, she was given a chance to be an official contestant in Master Chef. The first time when judges saw Christine cooking, they were amazed by her ability of tasting and cooking food. During the competition, Christine had to face many difficulties. For instance, she had to cook with a living crab, which was a tough challenge for a blind woman. Ultimately, her crab dish was assessed as the best dish. Moreover, she had to overcome many team challenges, which were not the easy ones. Nevertheless, Christine surmounted all the problems to be the first blind Master Chef.
Managing to overcome all the obstacles to achieve the title Master Chef, Christine has proved to the entire world what she could do. She is blind but this can’t prevent her from becoming a great cook. She cooks from her heart and works hard day by day to fulfill her wish. A strong will always lives in her.
