I thought this course had a ton of very valuable information. I learned a lot about all the different stages of development including the milestones that should be accomplished during each of the stages of life. It is amazing that interference with development early in life can affect your development throughout the stages, but there are ways that you can learn different skills that may help you at different times in your life. I really enjoyed learning that nothing is set in stone and that the stages we learned about are approximations and that everyone is different and that is it important to embrace the differences between everyone. During this course I learned a lot of very useful information about Freud and his psychosexual stages. It is very interesting that he connected sexual development with actual development. I have never been found of Freud, but I do admire him for starting the ball rolling for studying and understanding human development. It is amazing that each theorist after Freud has added and slightly changed Freud’s system. In fact it is amazing that much of the information we know about development and developmental milestone have changed very little since the time of Freud. Out of all the theories on human development I really liked Erik Erikson’s. I believe that his theory is very in-depth and identified the conflict within each individual that is taking place during each stage. I also appreciate that this theory breaks adulthood into different categories. This makes it a little more simplistic when trying to determine what should be going on during the different stages. When the course started I was worried that the information we were learning was going to be very segmented and that the different theories of Freud, Erikson, Vygostky and many others were not going to overlap. Now looking back on all the different topics such as adoption, I am able to take the information I learned about adoption and put it
