Class President Research Paper
In tenth and eleventh grade I have been the Class President of my AP World History Class and United States History Class. I had many responsibilities as class president, writing the assignments on the board, organizing and filing papers as well as keeping the class on track whenever we had a substitute teacher. I tutored some middle school students in math and science for two hours after school every Wednesday. I was able to connect to the students and get down to the root of the problem. I helped fix the issue, which resulted in increasing their grades drastically. In group projects, I take charge, listening to everyone’s opinions and coming to a conclusion that makes everyone content. Whenever, there is a disagreement, I usually who take …show more content…
I am also a Homeroom Leader for sixth graders. I help them settle into a new school, show them their classrooms, assist them with their lockers and teach them the rules of our school. The sixth grader are all timid and frighted at first but, I have managed to help them come out of their shells and get along with their peers through various fun games. In about two weeks, I managed to help the students know where their classes are, talk to teachers and ask for help. They know at least more than half of the students in their Homeroom. I’m always organized, rational, and even-tempered. Because of these traits I am often chosen to be the group leader or class president. I feel more fulfilled when I’m helping people. I am a great leader because I love to talk and understand people. I listen to people and whatever they have to say. I’m always the one who gives advice to my friends and help them solve their problems in the best way. I have helped teachers teach struggling students during lunch, three or four days a week. I am responsible and always have a schedule to maintain my work and free time. I try my best to get my work done early. I have two younger sisters and often have to take care of them. I drive them to and from school everyday. Whenever, there’s a group project, I’m usually the one who organizes, plans, and sets a specific date to meet up and work on the assignment. I keep everyone focused and on track but, also give breaks inbetween the assignments so we don’t wear

Pros; Mitt Romney is a strong debater, an impressive campaigner, and a skilled fund raiser. He has assembled an effective and out front Presidential campaign for 2012. He clearly takes being a candidate very seriously. Mitt Romney's tax plan is the most practical and pragmatic which is why we wrote "Finally, a candidate steps up and offers a proven, tested, and verified solution to create millions of private sector jobs." That shouldn't surprise anyone because Mitt Romney specialized in turning companies that were under performing into proven winners. Mr. Romney's success as a capitalist provides a striking contrast to the failing socialism of Barack Obama.…

It has been said that the Presidential election of 1912 was the most Progressive in the US history. This election was held on November 5, 1912 of which democrat Woodrow Wilson defeated Bull Moose as well as candidate and former Republican president Theodore Roosevelt and Republican incumbent president William Howard Taft. We ask ourselves what or who were Progressives? According to a statement by Roosevelt, “Anyone who has a forward-thinking vision of the future and intense convictions qualified as a Progressive” (Bowles, 2011). As we viewed our election between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney and many made their last minute votes during the election,…

Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth because they don't want their illusions destroyed.” (page # and where it is from) This quote expresses the way people unconsciously tend to be when researching for the truth about political parties. Instead of looking for the actual truth, certain websites push their ideas onto people intentionally leaving out the factual evidence. Half the time people go into searching for information blindly only looking for what they want to see, letting their illusions get the best of them. There is a lot of information out on the internet covering the Democratic party, although some facts are included they are more often than not clouded with bias statements and inaccurate propaganda. The following essay will directly inform readers about the change in the Democratic party within the years and will express the attitudes shown by leaders of the party in regards to minorities during the jacksonian era, the civil war, and the civil rights movement, without including any misconstrue information.…

Honors Study Hall is a highly debated topic within Wild Rose High School. People talk about where it should be held, who should be in it, and even if we should have it in the first place. This year our school decided to take honors study hall from the cafeteria and place it in the library. This was a bad idea because instead of changing the location, the subject in which should change is the people who are allowed to be in honors study hall.…

Why did FDR, Kennedy and Reagan win the hearts of America, while G.W. Bush, Nixon and Hoover are thought of as practically failures? Why is Eisenhower more popular than Carter? These are questions that not many people think about on a day-to-day basis- in fact, many people just accept, sometimes even without much proof, that certain presidents were better than others. Sure, the circumstances in which they were in office probably helped people choose which presidents are better than other (FDR in getting America out of the Great Depression, vs. say, Nixon and how he dealt with Vietnam), but it goes deeper than…

A.S.B. was an amazing class for me last year and I hope to be in it again. I would represent my Junior class in a positive way. It would be fun helping get kids involved in school activities. I would love to help with the school dances and assemblies because I am very creative. I think students should feel like school is there home away from home. Getting them involved and picking them for activities would give them a much better outlook and a good attitude towards school. I love getting decked out for spirit days so I would encourage other people to dress up with me! Leading in an enthusiastic way I will do the tasks at hand and get the work done, while being an example to others. I have a natural ability to improvise and adapt to every situation. I’ve had much experience like working a summer job at my Dads chemical company. In the office I helped work the phones for customer service. I also helped organize the company’s promotional events. To accomplish goals you must always respect others, work hard and get the job done; that’s what I think A.S.B. is all about. I’m up for anything, and available for whatever I’m needed to do. My family completely supports me as a leader and encourages any and all involvement that I am called to do. I am very energetic and enthusiastic about things and have many ideas. Also I’m very artistic and love to draw. I think one of my strengths is my creative mind. Being kind of a perfectionist is probably one of my strengths and one of my weaknesses. Sometimes I want to take my time to make everything right. Some things I could bring to A.S.B. are a fresh outlook, hard work and mainly new ideas. Maybe we could do some kind of marathon that went on the whole night till the morning; I think kids would have so much fun and we could still raise money. Otherwise I think A.S.B. is a great program and that’s why I’m running and would love to be in it again. I loved it last year and am hoping to…

I am able to help my peers by suggesting ways to improve on themselves by studying with me before a test or working together on homework problems. In addition to scholarship and leadership, I am very active in service activities outside of school. At my mother’s house, we volunteer for a dog organization and foster pit-bulls who are injured and in need of nurturing. I also go with the Williamstown Jazz Band to perform at elderly homes in order to cheer up the residents. Furthermore, I will gladly partake in school sponsored activities without delay. I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…

    Peers as Leaders

Basically, I think the most important skill that one needs to be a good Peer Leader is the ability to influence others, but there are other characteristics one needs to have to be an effective Peer Leader. In order to be influential, you need to have the ability to communicate well with others. Without the ability to talk to others, how is it possible to influence and direct others in the right direction? I'm a person that has the ability to engage with others easily, so communicating about what's wrong and right with others wouldn't be a problem to me. The function of a peer leader starts with influencing others in making the right decisions when it comes to peer pressure. A good peer leader also needs to have responsibility. In my freshmen year, I thought high school was a joke to me, and I didn't wake up till around beginning of sophomore year. I knew that this was a big mistake and I was prepared to take the punishment for my poor decision. I woke up and started to bring my grades up. I've been able to maintain good grades, even while being a team member of the basketball team. Overall, I think that I am qualified to be a member of PAL, because I know that I can influence and lead these kids towards the right path. I try my best to accomplish my objectives and know how to balance my priorities.…
