Honors Study Hall Research Paper
Honors Study Hall is a highly debated topic within Wild Rose High School. People talk about where it should be held, who should be in it, and even if we should have it in the first place. This year our school decided to take honors study hall from the cafeteria and place it in the library. This was a bad idea because instead of changing the location, the subject in which should change is the people who are allowed to be in honors study hall.
Within the Wild Rose High School I asked teachers what their opinion on study hall is and about all of them said our school should have honors study hall. Then I asked them if our school should modify who is in studyhall and where it is. 80% of the teaches and staff said the Grade Point Average should be raised to 3.5 and the study hall should be held in an enclosed environment. This is similar to my opinion because the GPA should be raised. This

Instead, they are either playing video games or going on their phone. With a raised grade point average it should not be a problem is students are on their phones or not because they are already getting their homework done if they are able to get a 3.5 GPA. Another school offering a study hall with a 3.5 GPA or higher is Kaukauna High School(Kaukauna). In my own experience, I am a person who goes on my phone during study hall, but I find it helpful for myself to do my homework at home with limited distractions. Something I do not agree with the teachers on is where the study hall should take place because they all think it should be in an enclosed environment, but I have worked hard to be able to have my freedom and alone time from teachers in the cafeteria. One compromise could be a study hall called high honors study hall. Students involved in this are the 4.0 or higher students. These students could be able to roam the hall and go to the cafeteria during their free period(HS Study

The play A Streetcar Named Desire revolves around Blanche DuBois; therefore, the main theme of the drama concerns her directly. In Blanche is seen the tragedy of an individual caught between two worlds-the world of the past and the world of the present-unwilling to let go of the past and unable, because of her character, to come to any sort of terms with the present. The final result is her destruction. This process began long before her clash with Stanley Kowalski. It started with the death of her young husband, a weak and perverted boy who committed suicide when she taunted him with her disgust at the discovery of his perversion. In retrospect, she knows that he was the only man she had ever loved, and from this early catastrophe evolves her promiscuity. She is lonely and frightened, and she attempts to fight this condition with sex. Desire fills the emptiness when there is no love and desire blocks the inexorable movement of death, which has already wasted and decayed Blanche's ancestral home Belle Reve.…

Along with many other achievements in the last three years, my involvement in National Honors Society is one of the most significant. In the past two years I have been a part of National Honors Society at my high school. The four pillars of NHS include: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. I believe I am a leading exemplar of those standards. Scholarship entails more than just getting good grades. It is achieving recognizable grades in rigorous courses that challenge you to learn outside of your comfort zone. National Honors Society has encouraged me to make an impact on my community. Community service is not an obligation, it is a choice I make because it is selfless and rewarding in ways far beyond words. Volunteering is doing…

Nearly half (47%) of all illegal border crossings into the U.S. occur along the Arizona border with Mexico. As the state with the most illegal crossings t the United States/Mexico border, its remote and dangerous deserts are the entry point for thousands of Mexicans and Central Americans(Cooper). The non-native citizen population has grown rapidly in this area. Arizona had an estimated 460,000 illegal immigrants in April 2010, a figure that had increased fivefold since 1990.(Cooper). Illegal immigration, like most other issues has an upside and a downside. On the upside, there is a steady workforce for the labor industry (agriculture, construction, etc.), and the service industry (restaurants). The agricultural industry in Arizona is comprised of 59% immigrants, the construction industry is made up of 27% workers not native to the United States, and the service industry is populated by 22% foreign born employees. On the downside, illegal immigration brings its share of problems including crime, poverty, uncirculated funds (pay not reintroduced into the economy in which it was originated), and an overburden on social services. It is the latter that sparked the now controversial Senate Bill 1070 that effectively closes the border to all but the few lucky enough to obtain legal status.…

In modern society a college degree is not only encouraged but greatly desired by the masses. Within their dream they imagine a beautiful school, excellent job, and lifetime of success. Camden County College should be all about giving the students the best education they can possibly receive. CCC came up with an idea to install condom dispensers in all of the restrooms. This idea will bring up very conflicting point of views. Students will begin to question what the school’s true priorities are. CCC Administrations are there because they know what is best for the school, they make all the decisions for the school whether it is wall paint or it is faculty. Both the students and their environment heavily contribute to the success of the educational institution. Discrepancies may present themselves that prove to be irrelevant to the college’s true priorities. Overall, CCC Administration should not be making decisions that are so irrelevant to the college’s initial purpose.…

Study Hall: Too Cool For School What do students complain about the most? Aside from idiotic dress codes, nonsensical food and drink rules, and lack of time between class changes, the most common thing that students complain about is homework. However, with the inclusion of a study hall, students could catch up on their homework, have a much needed break, and have more free time outside of school.…
