Class President Speech
My name is Kate and I’m here to say
I’m running for class president so vote for me today
Improving our school is what we need to do,
Together we get better I’m the candidate for you
If you’re looking for fun and you wanna make some green
I’m the girl you need to represent 2016!

Teachers, my fellow students; for those of you who don’t know me, hi! My name is Kate Salkowitz, and I’m running for freshman class president. Now, some of you might be thinking to yourselves, “Who, or what is a Salkowitz?” Well, Salkowitz is the last name of a girl who has been attending the Lakeland Central School District since she was 5, a girl who has made the honor roll every year, and a girl who is gunna put the “fun” in FUNdraising. I mean, selling candles is a great way to make money, but I think together, we can think of other ways as well. Like, what if we did a knock-off FoamFest? Charge admission and get everybody feeling bubbly inside while the Class of 2016 is making money. Fun, interesting fundraisers is something I can promise you as president.
As class president, I will make no false promises. I can’t get us all Macs, and I can’t make the walls of the hallway hot pink, but what I can do is try to bring back watermelon at lunch, and I will fight for your right to use the bathroom during class. Four minutes is not enough time for a person to get to class, and do their business.
Also, I’m a great leader. I was a GirlScout. “On my honor, I will try, to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law.”
Let’s be honest, as freshmen, we’re not the best-liked grade in the school. Isn’t it unfair? Being automatically disliked, simply because we’re freshmen? Well, if you vote for me as class president, I’ll make sure that we come out looking so awesome, that the upperclassmen won’t be able to find anything to make fun of us for.
Do any of these ideas sound appealing to you? Well, there are plenty more where those came from, I'm

She says that the student government can be very productive when conducting business without deadline worries. In her opinion, being class president is most enjoyable when she knows that her work is helping to improve the class and giving a voice to the students of the Sophomore Class. This is Saleh`s third year as president. Her greatest improvements are in her leadership, public speaking ability, and character. I understand that not every senior shows the proper maturity and they should be identified and treated accordingly. When it comes to privilages, seniors don't have many compared to underclassman. Sure, we get a free period as opposed to study hall and a senior skip day, but don't we deserve more for our twelve years of hard work and effort put into school? Don't we deserve something that, frankly speaking, makes everyone more aware of our seniority status, something that we can enjoy this year and the other grades can look forward to?…

I have Mr. Kucharik fifth hour, which means lunch time. Therefore, that means Mrs. Geist, the freshman English teacher, also has lunch at the same time. Ironically, this means freshman during our lunch shift. Strangely enough, one day, Mr. Kucharik joins us for lunch, and a freshman does something so eruptly disgusting. For example, a freshman put his hands in his pants to pull his wedgie out, pulled out his hand, smelled it, and continued to eat. Unfortunately, Mr. Kucharik had to witness all of this, and had to bring the story back to the classroom.…

In our case we all knew that graduation was coming and that we are leaving .all of us as students should know that change is always going to come we just have to deal with it. Instead of becoming sad that we are leaving, we should remember all the fond memories we are going to have and keep with us. Just because we are leaving market lane physically does not mean we are going to leave market lane mentally or emotionally. Market lane will be in our hearts forever. Market lane taught us many things how to deal with hardships, deal with stress and to have a great time.…

I am not running for class president because I have a bigger baseball card collection than the other candidates -- which I do -- but because I am a patriot and I love my class in a totally non-cootie related way. We were once the greatest class in the entire school, and we still are because the principal looks down on us and smiles. He loves our class, I love our class and we are crazy awesome, so keep that in mind while I now explain why we suck so hard.…
