Sophomore Class President Essay

I’ll never forget snuggling close to my friends for warmth as we watch our team dominate on the field and looking around me as the band plays and all my peers are dancing and singing along in the stands. I’ll never forget how much fun me and my friends had putting together the freshmen class float and decorating the pod for home coming or all those basketball games, soccer games, choir performances, and drama productions where the whole school comes together. I am not afraid to say Yorktown is the best school in the county. I Meredith St.John would love nothing more to be your sophomore class president. My Tennis coach, Coach Darby once told me that a great leader is a servant. I don’t want to lead my class I want to serve it, and continue to organize fun events like the ones I’ve participated in throughout this year. As your sophomore class president I promise to work my butt off while preparing for the homecoming activities, organize fun fundraisers for our class like havening school dances after basketball games or football games, I also promise that I will not miss one class meeting! Also I believe that my position as sophomore class president will give me a respected voice amongst the people on the school board. This is important because I plan to address the school board on our dress code. I believe that in the 90 degree heat students should be allowed to wear tank tops and shorts that don’t go all the way to our knees! I’ve heard other candidates use the Donald Trump slogan “make Yorktown great again.” I don’t think that Yorktown needs to be made great again. I believe it’s always been great and it still it, I simply think Yorktown needs to continue down a path of greatness.
