Subject area centers are located against all four walls of the classroom. The social studies center is along the same wall as the calendar and schedule, just past the SmartBoard. The Writing and Reading center is located along the wall that is part of the entrance. The Math center is located on the walls opposite to the entrance, as well as to the left of the entrance. There are 7 tables in all, along with 2 individual seats. Individual seats are for work, and no one sits there on a regular basis. There is a circular table, located opposite the entrance, where the teachers work with students. There is also a teacher table located next to the SmartBoard, where the document camera and computer connections are located. This seated arrangement is very similar to the one found on the classroom design website. The floor plan found on this website suggests that the room be very organize and flow in a way that is orderly, but that works for the teachers.
