for becoming a clinical manager include having a bachelor’s degree from a college that has accreditation with a major in business or management preferably. Another option that can be considered is obtaining your master’s degree in your major; this gives you more education as well as more experience in your chosen field. Starting out, most clinics want to see at least 5 years of past clinic experience. The clinic experience does not always have to be working the floor of a medical practice. If you want to move further up the ladder you could become a Certified Physician Practice Manager, or a Certified Medical Manager; both are extra credentialing to add on to your experience. These credentials do also require you to pass a 200-question exam (Top Masters in Healthcare Administration, 2017)
Everyone has different personality traits, some of them will work well in healthcare, but others might need some work.
By completing the personality profile in the learning profile, I learned that the traits I have are, being realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional (My Next Move, 2017). To be a clinic manager, the main traits that I am going to use are being social, realistic, and conventional. These traits are going to help me solve complex problems in the best way possible. Within these traits being social will especially help me to run staff meetings and help my voice be heard, it will also help me to recruit new employees. One of the traits that stood out to me that needs work is my artistic trait. Working on my artistic trait will help me to brainstorm new policies and procedures, as well as coming up with more patient friendly environments such as brighter patient rooms, or kid friendly ER waiting …show more content…

My career goal is to one day be a clinic manager, I want to be able to say that I can provide a well-functioning positive clinical setting for not only my patients, but my employees.
I want to be able to take the mistakes I have seen from past managers I have had and learn from those; I want to be able to go to work and make a difference. I believe that when you work in a managerial position, you cannot let the title get ahead of you. You must remember that the way you treat your workers is the way they are going to work for you. If you treat them poorly, they are going to work poorly. If you treat them with respect and compassion, they will give your company the
same.
