Each and every day around us, there are those who need a hero, but who is the hero and what is the right definition of heroism? Through weeks of discussing the concept of heroism, i discovered that the definition of heroism is relative: someone can be a villain from another perspective, but a hero in another person’s perspective. however , all of the definitions agree on general principles of a hero so i can define the hero as a person who has courage and self-sacrifice and is willing to risk his life in order to help others regardless of the consequences. There is a desperate need for heroes to make our world better and in the five years i’ve been in school i have stumbled upon the greatest hero i can ask for. Some people misunderstand the concept of a hero, most people think to be a hero, they have to have supernatural powers, but that is wrong. A hero can be anybody. You do not have to have miraculous abilities, but it is all about having courage and determination to react properly in the right place at the right time. Coach Young is a perfect example of that, his goal in life is to be better than what he was yesterday, and to have is mind set to be better tomorrow than he is today. A true hero to me is true to his words, loyal, humble, courageous, and can instill holiness in you. I have known Coach Young for five years and everyday Coach Young tries to make a difference in someone's life. No matter what problem anyone is having Coach Young is there to make you feel better about the situation. I know Coach young hasn’t had the best life growing up, but that never stopped him from pursuing greatness
I admire him for his care for everybody, his ability to stand up for what is right, and his courage to face injustice. This football season really made me believe he is a true hero mainly, because when he became the head football coach, everyday he wanted to be closer to reaching perfection, no matter how far away we were from being perfect he wanted to strive harder and harder each and everyday to get just and inch closer. Throughout the whole season he talked about having a war face. The war face was a scene from a movie that he wanted to instill in us because it was saying even through adversity we still need to have a war face and be ready for the wr that was before us. We weren’t the best team by any means, and if you know Coach young like i do you know he is a sore loser. He hates being a loser, but him holding his composure after us getting beat by someone we weren’t supposed to lose to or to someone who just destroyed us he had the same mind set about everything.
