The life of a hero isn’t easy, especially for Teddy Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt was born October 27, 1858, in New York City, and died January 6, 1919. Before he attended college, he was homeschooled due to frequent Illness He attended Harvard University, and Columbia Law School and later became a NYC policeman. His father, who was his role model, died during his second year in Harvard which caused his grades to decrease. He had two wives: Edith Roosevelt, and Alice Hathaway Lee. One of his favorite activities to do in his free time was to explore. His mother and his wife passed away on the same date, February 14, 1884 , and Roosevelt left for Dakota territory to own a ranch for two years before heading back to New York. Teddy left the government to serve as a volunteer in the Spanish - American War, and lead a cavalry known as the Rough-Riders. When Teddy was a young boy, doctors found that he had a weak heart, advising him to take a desk job and not strain himself. Instead, he lived a more active life than most normal humans. He was known for his anti-monopoly policies, and ecological conversationalism, and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for ending the Russo-Japanese War. Teddy Roosevelt is someone to consider a hero. He did things that people were afraid of doing, that is why he was a hero. He made sure that the country he served for was protected. He was bold, not fearful. Humble, not immature. He stopped a war that army’s couldn't stop.
