Police have been around since the early 1800’s since Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett had there go arounds with brawls and shooting each other. Now, police have been around for a long time and have progressed since then and still are but eventually they will end their legacy one day but hopefully created?…
Troy Aikman, from college football, to the NFL, to a commentator, to a man of charity. Most known for his career as a Dallas Cowboy, it all started somewhere, and although Troy Aikman had a rocky start as the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, by the end of his career he had become one of the very best Cowboys quarterbacks of all time.…
I was sitting in the doctor’s office this morning waiting for my appointment, thinking about what current event I could choose that would include the 6 sociological concepts. I was at a loss. Syria crossed my mind. Obama care was a thought. But my answer was lying on the coffee table beside me with a Sports Illustrated cover and the picture of a football phenom with a number 2 jersey emblazoning his torso and wearing his Texas A&M helmet. I picked up the magazine and found the article on page 26 and started to read.…

Looking at a map Pacific Grove, California appears as nothing more than a speck, located on the Monterey Peninsula and nestled between Monterey and Pebble Beach. One could miss this tiny town with the blink of an eye. It is here one day I found Perkins Park a place giving me solace, and granting me the freedom to reflect on how life use to be.…
The Eli Manning Children’s Clinic: a foundation that has raised over $3 million and every single penny goes towards making children’s clinics. The guy behind the whole charity is Eli Manning. Eli Manning made a foundation that continuously is making children’s clinics around the country to help sick kids. Eli does more than just making a multi-million dollar foundation; he once was a kid, and he was influenced by his brother and father. On top of that Eli Manning is a Super Bowl winning quarterback for the New York Giant, but before that he was just a kid living in Louisiana growing up with his family.…

Does our legal system have racist tendencies? In a perfect world, people would be punished for the crimes of which they are guilty, and all punishments would be fair. Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world. Racism is still at large.…
Peyton Williams Manning was born on March 24, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the second of Archie and Olivia Manning's three sons. Cooper, the oldest, arrived in 1974. Eli came into the world five years after Peyton. Like his dad, Peyton loved football. By his third birthday, he was tossing the pigskin with Cooper. For Peyton, childhood was perfect. He idolized his father and dreamed of being a star college quarterback. The Saints were the laughingstock of the NFL, and despite some great individual seasons. In 1982, after he was traded to the Oilers, Archie talked it over with Olivia and they decided the family would stay in New Orleans. Peyton and brothers…
Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback of all time due to his upbringing of a quarterback family. His dad Archie Manning was a quarterback at Ole Miss from 1967-1970 and went to the NFL draft in 1971. In the draft, he was the second pick in the very first round by the New Orleans Saints. Archie played for them from 1971-1975 and then back again from 1977-1982. Archie was then sent to the Houston Oilers and then to the Minnesota Vikings. He retired in 1984, but during his NFL career, he had three sons named Cooper, Peyton, and Eli Manning.…
William Penn was a holy man, a do-gooder by all means, who in 1681, was granted land in the New World, and set out to commence his “Religious Experiment”, with his Quaker brethren. Penn had a vision for his own utopia and would end up investing all of his assets in the newly found colony which is now Pennsylvania. Much of his money as well as other investors’ went to the process of actually acquiring the land which was one of the most crucial objectives in Penn’s plan. Because William Penn was a religious man, and because the land he acquired was already partially settled by native tribes, the financial capital needed to execute a smooth and peaceful transaction was quite enormous for the time.…
What defines honesty and integrity? Is there a connection between these two words, and what does that imply? Stephen L. Carter, a law professor and writer, questions the common definitions of these words and the their moral interpretations in his essay, “The Insufficiency of Honesty”. In the essay, he makes several about the key differences between what “honesty” and “integrity” actually mean, and I agree with Carter that too often integrity is mistaken for honesty. He mentions that, “…acting in accordance with what you think is right and risking no loss in the process is a rather thin and unadmirable form of honesty”, and I concur that selfishness of that caliber lacks integrity by definition.…
Honesty is an extremely important characteristic of a true and ideal American. Honesty makes an American be trustworthy. If one cannot be trusted in words, he cannot be trusted in anything else. Honesty proves what kind of person you truly are.…
I cherish honesty because when I was growing up, I was taught to always be honest with myself and others as well. Honesty is really the best policy because when one is being honest with others, they gain their trust and understanding. Honesty can be defined as “the quality of being fair and truthful : the quality of being honest” (Merriam Webster, 2016). I can use honesty in my professional life by gaining trust with my coworkers and building connections with them simply by being honest with them. Honesty does build trust because no one wants someone who is going to lie to them around them all the…
Have you ever imagined not having a coach for your sports team? Or why your coach is so successful? Even though they are very demanding, they’re essential for any team’s success. “I demand a lot out of my players, but we have fun and I give them room to learn and make mistakes,” said Coach Mike Bates. They provide structure and are the heart and souls of each team. Coaches have to love the game. The team reflects the coach, if he’s successful so will you be. The coach needs to be disciplined and teach the fundamentals of the game. They should instill moral values into the team.…
