How would you change the sales environment to promote ethical selling practices without compromising overall sales performance?…
An "end-driven" ethical theory is one in which the right action is the one that aims at a certain goal. In AutoZone’s case, the goal or outcome is to make a profit while serving the customer to the best of their ability. Some examples of this are within the Code of Conduct’s section on fair dealing. This section states that employees, according to "Autozone Code Of Conduct 2014" (2014), "must deal with customers honestly and truthfully, be well-informed about the performance, pricing, features and benefits of the products and services AutoZone sells, show a genuine concern for customers’ needs, give accurate information when describing products and services or comparing products to those offered by competition, and sell responsibly by explaining how AutoZone’s products and services meet customer needs and support product performance claims accurately and by fact” (Fair…

One of the biggest automotive news stories in the latter part of the 1970’s dealt with tales of exploding Ford Pintos and the considerable awards civil court juries were presenting to victims of accidents involving the cars.…
After reading the book Good Faith and watching the movie Glengarry Glen Ross, I was able to analyze the actions of the characters and identify their views on ethical behavior. Both the book and the movie concentrate on salesmen of the real estate companies. The common goal that all salesmen aim for is to become successful by getting high profits from selling different properties. Behaviors such as lying, disobeying the law, or stealing are seen as unethical in the society. On the other hand, behaviors such as acting with integrity, and caring about clients needs are viewed as ethical acts.…

They need to make sure to not completely trust the seller, because not everyone is ethical. They should examine the goods carefully, ask educated questions, and read up on the topic before going ahead and buying something. For example, in The Grapes of Wrath, the car dealer was able to take more advantage of the people because he can see the raw need on their faces, and how they didn't really ask anything to make him give them a better deal. Therefore, the people didn't do their part of being ethical buyers to get the best and most honest…

Ashley’s Furniture Store located in the Ledge wood, NJ area, it is my opinion, and this store is in need of training their employees the importance of the AMA Code of Ethics. In dealing with the public and serving as an employee of a reputable furniture store you would think all of the employees would have the same type of training, and/or have the same goal in mind, serve the public in a fair and honest way. (pg 84) (Anderson & Dubinsky, 2007)…

Ethics and moral obligations are issues we all encounter at one time or another. In the professional setting, all people should act in a manner that would uphold the good of society. To be ethical, one has to determine their obligations, moral ideas, and moral philosophy (Boatright, p. 19, 2009). The case analysis involving Jacob Franklin was a perfect example of how an individual can face the dilemma of doing what is right or wrong. Businesses have their own code of ethics, and the employees within the business have to determine whether or not they will follow the company’s code of conduct. I will discuss several ethical issues in the case analysis including; failure to report information, remaining silent regarding faulty equipment, and paying cash as a form of consideration to clients once the contract was signed. Ethical behavior in business is consistent with the principles, norms and standards of business practices agreed upon by society (Boatright, p.4, 2009). Jacob Franklin decides to go against the code of ethical behavior for job security and personal gain.…
