Guiding Statement as written on page 42 of this chapter:
Act with respect to others at all times, trust in yourself to overcome any obstacle, take a risk to become different than the rest, forgive others like god forgives you, commit yourself to finish and never quit, have the internal motivation to get up and make it happen, remember that success comes with hard work, and share love to everyone in the world.
How will your guiding statement help… If you have a disagreement with your supervisor at work.
In the occasion that a disagreement between my supervisor and me would happen, the first action I would put in effect is to keep myself calm and show respect to him. I would trust in myself and tell him that I am following the procedures that I have been taught and have been completing the task by the rules. In the event that I am wrong, I will accept the blame and commit myself to fix my mistake and have the motivation to go over everything and see where I was at fault. I would also work harder in my position to prove my supervisor that I am an expert and a professional at my duty. In the occasion that I receive a failing grade on my class paper or project, I would immediately revise the paper and email my teacher with respect, and ask her if she could provide me with her opinion on what I need to do better next time. Also with the feedback, I will commit myself to work harder and spend more time with the next paper or project, and see my success on it. I would not let myself turn down and believe that I am an incompetent and can’t accomplish anything, but instead, trust in myself that I can obtain an excellent grade and succeed in the class.
