Some people have to work hard to find their life calling, sometimes it’s something you do as a young kid, but sometimes you come to loving doing whatever it is later in life.
When I was young it was oblivious to everyone that I was going far in life doing music, whether that be playing an instrument, dance, musical theatre or something along those lines. I just grew up that way, being introduced to all different styles and types of music from my dad. Now on the flip side of things, my mom. I’ve always asked her what she wanted to be when she was younger, she would say a secretary. Later she admitted she was just saying that to shut me up. She is an example of someone who just didn’t find something they loved to do. I think she has a life calling, she just never found it. My family and I all pretty much know what we love to do. Me and my brother are most definitely working towards those goals everyday. A good thing to have though, is a plan. Having a plan for your life achievement or goal is good so then you will be prepared and ready when it comes to college or
jobs.
I have a slight five year plan for my dream job/career, it goes from last year to the year I graduate. I hate to rush time and think so far ahead but it's good to do that if you want to go to college, which I do. There's three main things that are on my list to complete before graduation, kind of a bucket list if u will. One of the three is to take dance classes every year till I graduate so I can improve greatly. I started 3 years ago and now this year I'm taking ballet and modern. Out of all the things I like to do this has to be number one for me. Dance is legitimately my life. Twice a week I spend 3 hours there after school, every Tuesday and Wednesday. I just started both of those classes but I wanna keep with it and every year add some more classes to my list so later in life I can achieve my realistic dream job, to open my own dance studio. A plan for anyone to reach any goal, whether it's so out there and seems impossible to achieve or you could be doing it tomorrow, can help and make the possibility so much higher. There's so many things that can come out of having a life calling though. Just the motivation you get from it can get you out of bed in the morning and be ready to conquer the world.
The benefits are endless just from having a “life calling”. It gives someone a personality and something they identify with. Every week I look forward to Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I have a better day on those days of the week. It makes me more productive and focused, and it obviously gets me into better shape then I would be if I never danced. After class I'm so excited to show what I did to my parents and I just love showing my potential to my family and friends. As cheesy as that sounds, it's so true! Having a “life calling” gives you something to be so proud of! Doing something that you love to do during the weekend or after school gives you motivation to get your work done so you can be closer to whatever you have planned. At least for me, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays it's significantly easier to wake up at 5:00 and I get all my school work done quicker. The drive it gives me is just amazing. I want to just get the day done so I can go to the place where I am most happiest. It's definitely a lot on my feet but the sacrifice of sore feet and a little more tiredness each week is so worth my whole hearted happiness. I work my muscles so much that each morning I'm not sure if I can get up, but I know I'm just tired from all the exercise. I greatly appreciate the pure feeling of happiness I get from a few hours each week at a smelly, yet wonderful studio. Both my parents and I are so proud of me for even the little accomplishments I make in that studio. It's such a great feeling at the end of the year to show them the talent that exists in me at the recital. At the end of the day, “life calling” or not, the only thing that matters is what you get the purest, most wonderful feeling of joy from.
A life calling shouldn't be neglected because it's something that is so special. I can't express how much I love that I have something that makes me unique. I work hard and try to grow all my interests and talents so I can be the best me there is. All of it pays off in the end if you become successful at whatever you love to do, but the experiences and memories you get from all the clubs and sports you joined and the friends you make along the way is what really matters. All in all, just strive and go to extreme lengths to make yourself happy and feel joy in what you do every day.
