College Essay On Sports Injuries
Sports injuries are a big problem in sports. “Children ages 5 to 14 account for nearly 40 percent of all sports related injuries in hospitals” (“Youth Sports Injuries Statistics”). Minorities are a big account for the injuries. To stop or lower sports injuries, we all will have to educate people, do better warmups before matches, and treat the injuries right.
One way to prevent sports injuries is to educate people about it. The pros and kids who are into sports have a greater risk of getting hurt. “Those that play sports especially at professional level are at a greater risk of being injured more so than those who play sports for fun due to the frequency of the training and game playing” (“Medical Misdiagnosis and Sports Injuries”) . Ankle Sprains can be one of the easiest to treat. “With an ankle sprain, it’s important to exercise to prevent loss of flexibility and strength - and re-injury” (“The Seven Most Common Sports Injuries”). Strength is important in sports. Icing most groin injuries is mostly the way to go. “Compression, ice, and rest will heal most groin injuries” (“The Seven Most Common Sports Injuries”). Compression is also a good resource. Shin splints are mostly pain products. “Rest, ice, and over-the-counter pain medicine are the mainstays of treatment” (“The Seven Most Common Sports Injuries”). Any of those could help. With proper treatment, sports injuries can be protected and solved.
Sports injuries is a scare for anyone involved. To stop or lower sports injuries, we all will have to educate people, do better warmups before matches, and treat the injuries right. People blame coaches for not properly warming up or not knowing much, but parents and adults need to help their kids and themselves with not getting injured.
