Comet Thon As A Role Model

My freshman year, striving to become more active in my community, I became a founding officer of Comet THON, a philanthropy organization benefitting pediatric cancer research. Being a new student organization, my actions would establish the foundations of Comet THON for years to come. In addition, I had to recruit others to the organization and guide them in ways they could benefit our cause. Through my experience helping establish Comet THON, I learned that my personal leadership style is to lead by cooperation. I discovered that I loved serving as a role model to others and enjoyed working in a team. Being a new student organization, cooperation amongst the officers and members was key to success. from being a public face, rather, it requires honing traits such as integrity and dedication, traits I strive to build as part of my character.
