The Cold War started because Russia and China wanted to spread communism to every country of the world. The U.S wanted to stop this from happening. Even though it was called a war and is known for the U.S. versus the U.S.S.R, there wasn’t any direct fighting between the two countries. The U.S. decided we did not want to have communism in our country. Karl Marx, the “creator” of communism created a pamphlet called the communist manifesto which explained the idea of communism and what it should be used for in countries. The communists also had many goals for their new idea everywhere but they also had downsides. However there was some anti-communism within the world that disagreed with their communist acts. Communism was a huge threat to us during the Cold War because it would change the U.S. entirely if we became a communist nation. Even though communism was not wanted in the U.S., people in America still believed it would be idea” for us. This was known as the Red Scare. The reason that so many people wanted communism was because of what would be eliminated but people were not aware of the downsides to these things. Propaganda played a big role in promoting the idea of communism throughout the world. The propaganda for communism was almost everywhere at the height of the Cold War. Even though both propaganda and the war was promoting it, leaders from all over were also trying to push communism onto their people. One of the most known communist leader was Joseph Stalin and Vladimir Lenin who was the leaders of the Soviet Union at the time of the Cold War. Lastly the ideas from Karl of communism versus reality was very different conclusions than what he would’ve hoped. In conclusion communism played a big part of the Cold
