Compare And Contrast Christianity And Abrahamic Religions

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are the three major religions in the world. Amongst the three beliefs there are almost four billion followers. Our past history shows that countries, and regions within countries have identified themselves with one of the three religions. In many cases, the countries identifying or attempting to identify with a specific religion resulted to tension, and wars. The three religions are usually referred to as Abrahamic religions because they all claim Abraham as an important pillar of their faith. The three religions have many similarities, and have been spread in similar ways throughout history. The culture in which these religions were developed affected the theories and practices that differ in these religions.
Within the Muslim faith they believe in one god they call Allah. On the other hand, Jews believe in one god whose name is Yahweh. Lastly, the Christian faith believe of one god in three distinct persons, which are the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. They also have different positions when it comes to salvation. The Muslims believe that you can only be saved if they follow the five pillars of faith, and through their deeds. Christians make it easy either you believe in Jesus Christ or not, those who do will receive salvation. Muslims, Christians, and Jews have very different beliefs concerning Jesus. Christians have faith that Jesus, the son of God, was born of Virgin Mary. The Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet, who was ascended into heaven. To the Jews, Jesus was considered as a normal Jew, who was born into a normal family. Christians and Jews disagree the most when it comes to who “Jesus” is, it has been said that “Judaism does not believe that Jesus was the Messiah… Christianity teaches that God became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ so he could lay down his life to pay the price of our sins.
