Compare And Contrast Nogales
For over twenty-one years, I have known Nogales, Arizona as my hometown and the only city I have lived at that moment. Going through twelve years of school from entering to Elementary to graduating from High School. Having friends and family living just a few minutes away from where we lived. Everything in Nogales was convenient for all of us. Until I had to move away from Nogales and travel three hours to Phoenix. It was going to be difficult leaving the life we had living in the small town in the city of Nogales to living a different lifestyle in Phoenix. As much as I think of both cities being completly different from each other but in a way both are similar. Getting used to how big Phoenix really is compared to Nogales, feeling welcomed …show more content…
I felt as if every year it was getting bigger as I was growing up. Adding new homes, new offices, new businesses everyday for the past twenty-one years. The southern part of Nogales you can see how it used to look like. The Mexican border where both sides of the border can be seen clearly. The Historic Morley Avenue is an entire street near the port of entry to the border with family owned businesses. Along the same road you can find the old courthouse still standing since 1904. Including Nogales City Hall, City Hall Memorial Wall and Teychea Park right behind it. In the northern part of Nogales has most of the businesses around. Nogales is also home to five elementery schools, two middle schools, and only one High School. The schools I went to were Challenger Elementary School named after Challenger space shuttle disaster that occured in 1986, Desert Shadows Middle School, and Nogales High School home of the Apaches. In my High School years I entered and graduated as an Apache. Around Nogales, the majority of the community will always greet you with a smile on their faces. Everywhere you went to in Nogales you will always find yourself meeting new people, or greeting your own family and friends you went to school with. Even finding teachers you currently or previously had while attending only of the schools in Nogales. The best part of all my experiences while liviving in Nogales was spending valuable time with family, either enjoying a day out at the parks with them or enjoy annual events with them. If you just want to relax and enjoy a day in sun, then we go to the parks that Nogales has to offer. Teychea Park is the park I always used to go to when I was younger. Going down the slides, sway back and fourth on the swings, or shoot some hoops on backetball court. The best way to spend time with famiy is certain holidays together. Watching the fireworks in the

We have been watching fireworks for hundreds of years, so we’ve had time to get it right. And yet every year, something new and bigger is always on display. Living in "the hood" in Weslaco,TX surrounded by my entire family was really a fundamental thing in my life. When i say entire, I mean literally all of us live a minute maybe two away from each other, and some of us were even neighbors. Now things are a little different and we may have scattered around all over Weslaco but we remain united and always available if one of us needed each other.…

When I was a little girl I use to always go to the park and while swinging I would imagine how much cooler it would be to live in a big city with lots of people and many things to see and experience. I never would have thought that at my age I would be sitting and relishing all the amazing times I had in my small home town. The family traditions, slow living and many childhood memories hold my heart in my hometown of Norfolk Nebraska. The boldly colored green grass, light brown cat tails lining the lake shore and fishing poles hanging off a dock all are vivid in my mind when thinking about the weekends I experienced in my adolescence.…

I was asked to write about a neighborhood I haven’t seen and I think that this is a perfect one because I used to be familiar with it back then. I think that since I haven’t visited for a while it is perfect for this assignment. When I went to 111st I thought everything was going to be pretty much the same but quite a few things changed. Before, it would be dangerous to go out to the park or anywhere because there were a lot of gangs. When I went to visit this week it was so nice. They made new apartments all over the place. The park where I used to go also changed a lot. It seems friendlier and the people that live in that neighborhood seem kind. I remember when I was a child my mom wouldn’t let go to the store alone even though it was right across my street because she knew about the gangs around. Another thing that changed about the neighborhood was that before, a lot of Dominicans and African Americans used to live there. Now, a lot of Asian people live there, especially in the new built apartments. I also saw that a lot of Mexicans and Ecuadorians live there. The house where I live is still there.…

I grew up in a two small towns called Ruston, La and Grambling, La. I spent my childhood in Ruston and my teenage years in Grambling. The two towns are so small it's like 1 small town almost. I enjoyed my childhood there. It was a place where kids were free to run and play. Til this day it is still a place where kids can be free and mothers don't have to constantly fret about there child being kidnapped of the street. I remember being up the street outside playing jump rope, volley ball, kickball, football, softball, and basketball with all the neighborhood kids. When evening came and the sun went down I remember my mother standing in the yard calling my name for me to come home because it was getting late.…

FLHS had a mix of students, there were different nationalities, many different ranges of intelligence, and was very diverse. Throughout my years I found that the people who touched me more then anyone and the people I am so blessed to have had the privilege to go to school with were the special education students. Spending 13 years with your peers you are bound to make clicks, and have closer friends as well as dislike certain people. I learned pretty fast that High School isn't like High School musical. Not everything was flowers and smiles.…

Though my birthplace happens to be here in Jacksonville, I moved and lived right outside of Philadelphia from eight months until seventeen years of age. Philadelphia was my home in every sense of the word. Growing up I never pictured myself there forever, but moving was not in the foreseeable future. Weather up north is seen as a burden to some, but to me it’s something beautiful. New hope in instilled through Mother nature, from the changing of leaves, to the mystical feel of a truly white Christmas, the seasons hold a special place in my heart. However, temperature was not the deciding factor. My job was by no means a career choice, but I had stayed with the company for four years, which at seventeen seems like a lifetime, and had grown to know and love my job as well as co-workers. It was comfortable. My friends were not lifelong, in fact most of them I had only known for two or three years, but they had been there for me through it all. I couldn’t lose them. My home was everything. My friends were irreplaceable. My job was my safe haven. My city was my life and as far as I was concerned nothing would or could change that.…
