When you are growing up your parents teach you about God or Gods and your religion. As grow you become accustomed to those beliefs, but have you ever wondered what it would be like to learn another religion and their beliefs. Dated someone that had a different religion than you, and wondered what happened when your family found out. When back during the A.D. times none of that was allowed to happen. Those people were strict when it came to their religion. If you were monotheistic you followed their rules only and dated only monotheistic people. Polytheistic people were the same way, but they had a lot of more options than monotheistic people.

The three major religions that fall under this umbrella that we talked about in class are, Sumerians, Phoenicians, and Hinduism. The people of these religions are allowed to serve more than one God and they must serve and respect all of them. There is a God for everything you want and need. For example there is a God of the Niles and the sun. They are taught more than one religion and they are responsible for knowing everything for all of the religions that they were taught. None of their Gods are consider perfect. They basically like humans. The people of these religions can relate to their God because she/he is considered a human. They are able to love outside of their religion (as long as it is not a Monotheistic person) and not have to worry about convincing them to convert to all of their religions or getting killed. They are able to relate to their God. The disadvantages that Polytheistic people have over Monotheistic people are that they have many religions that they have to keep up with and many Gods that they have to respect and serve. There are many things that they have to learn as well. Their God is not as forgiving as the Monotheistic God is, you are either killed, have something chopped off, everything taken from you and other brutally
