Compare Two Specific Goals For English 1010
I would have to say my writing is average and its nothing really special about it. There is some things I want to work on to make my papers as good as they could be. My strength as a writer is that I stay on topic and I hit all the points I suppose to hit. One of my challenge is that I don’t go into detail about my topic. I usually get straight to the point and I will have to go back and add details to meet the word requirements.
My two specific goals for English 1010 is for me to get more comfortable with my writing and become more organized. I don’t like writing so I usually wait to the last minute and my paper don’t be as good as it could be. I want to work on planning out what I want to do each day for my paper so it can be an easier process

I don't have much to say about writing for myself. Writing doesn't mean much to me. I am not a writer. I am an orator. However, writing does mean something to my wife. I love my wife. She loves to write. She spends hours a day writing. I watch words flow from her fingertips as she writes page after page. She doesn't let me read much of what she writes, but when she does, I can see the passion and the joy that she has for what she writes about. I wish that I could write with such a fire.…

    English 111 Objective

I believe that the major objective of English 111 is to practice different substantial skills that will help you increase your writing abilities. These skills will prepare students when they’re expressing thoughts, feelings, viewpoints, and information orally or on paper. In my opinion, the most important central concept communicated in the syllabus is the Course Schedule. I will constantly be marking off the assignments that I have already completed so that I know which ones I have left to complete. It’s extremely important to be well organized and to always keep up with when the work is due. If you get too far behind, it’ll end up being too much work to catch up on. Being proficient is key to success in this class. The only question that…

Overall, I am not a completely horrible writer. I’m good at getting my point across, and just flat out writing once I get going. However, there is definitely things that I can improve on, as there almost always is in life. My grammar skills and sentence wordiness can greatly be improved, this will come with writing more and looking over my work. I didn’t really write papers until this class, so these issues will also get better as I become a more experienced…

Good writing to me means knowing what you are doing. By this I mean you know how to use good grammar, punctuation, etc. I think a good writing piece will also have a noticeable start, body, and end. You know you have written something well when it clearly makes sense and there aren’t errors.…

I am certainly not a strong writer and have often struggled with personal writing. Coming from a household where neither of my parents graduated high school, I found that I have partaken to push myself to be successful. I believe that I am extremely fortunate having the ability to ask for help from my professors, mentor, supervisor and colleagues. My confidence has gone up tremendously when working with clients and other professionals. I believe that I have grown as a writer and a…

I believe the greatest strength of my paper is how I put the information into my own words when I could and did not use too much detail. This was a big deal to me, because like I said before, I am not very good at picking out main points. Putting sentences into my own words has also been a struggle for me but I think I did a good job in this paper.…

Writing has never been easy for me. In school, I have always had good grades. Some subjects came naturally like biology, history, and even math. Over time I have learned, that writing is a process. It takes patience and skill. Ever since writing my first major paper in the eighth grade, I gained a better understanding and appreciation for writing.…

The key topic I have learned that plays a huge role in the writing process is confidence. When writers are confident about their piece and they really love the way it has turned out, then it shows through the entire paper. I always tell my dance students that if they show the audience how much they love dancing, then more people will want to watch them. And I think the same goes for…

The beginning of course English 101 was challenging and stressful, this class introduced me to many different types of paper topics that I never knew existed. There are so many things that come to play when it comes to writing, from grammar to punctuation mechanics, etc. Before this class I was not aware of any writing process and all of the different types of essays and so I felt overwhelmed every time I had to write about a new topic. I struggled with gathering my thought and placing them on paper.…

When I started English 1010, I knew that I would learn a lot of things from this class and I knew that I was expected to know how to write an essay, but I did not know what else to expect from the class. At the beginning of the first day of class Professor Weaver said that she would teach the class the four learning outcomes to pass English 1010. In this class there are a total of four learning outcomes: reading, writing, reflection and technology use. I need to satisfy all four of those learning outcomes to pass English 1010. To satisfy all four learning outcomes means to fully comprehend and use each learning outcome to greatly improve my writing. Although Professor Weaver may disagree, I believe that I deserve to pass this class because…

I find writing a very neutral subject because I am not terrible nor excellent at it. I have always written enough for it to be satisfactory. Therefore, I believe that one of my strengths as a writer is being able to understand what I have to write about and knowing what I want to say. I question myself every step of the way, asking myself “ Is what I am writing, answering the topic that I am addressing?” However, with that said, I believe that my weakness lies in that fact that I cannot put my thoughts into words. I have a vast amount of ideas that never get a chance to come alive on paper. I feel that I am not very good at transitions and sentence structures. Another weakness is that it takes me an awful long…

With all that being said, I know my writing needs a lot of work. That is why if I were to rate my writing on a scale from 1-10, I would have to give myself a “5”. But I am determined to raise that rate all the way to “10”, because it is essential that I learn everything I possibly can about writing, because it not only plays a…
