Comparing Aaylah's Influence On Success And Goals
Out of all the experiences in my life that can influence my success and goals at CCU, my daughter, Aaylah, is my most important influence. Before I had Aaylah, my previous goal in life was to get an education in psychology. Once I had Aaylah, she helped me reevaluate my current and future goals and realize my calling in life. Not only do I want to strengthen my academic success and relationship with the Lord, but be a positive role model in my daughter’s life.
Previously, my goals were to get a degree in social psychology and become a counselor to young adults. I was always interested on how the brain works, and why people think and act the way they do. Little did I know that these goals were just a stepping stone in God’s plan to reach my true calling.

The Lord blessed my husband,
Angel, and I with our beautiful daughter Aaylah. I fell in love instantly. I couldn’t believe this little bundle of joy grew inside me and now I’m watching her grow so fast. Each developmental milestone was, and still is, amazing to experience. From that I realize that my true calling is for a degree in developmental psychology. So now my current goal is to earn an Associates degree in psychology. After I earn my Associates degree, my future goals are to earn my Bachelors,
Masters, and Doctorate degree in developmental psychology.
Finally, my most important goal is to be a great mother and positive role model for my daughter. Aaylah has influenced me to try to achieve many great things, which I hope in turn can influence her. With the work of the Lord I know “with God all things are possible.”

There are many types of goals. Growing up, I always dreamed of being two things: a mother and a nurse. I am blessed to have two wonderful children ages 14 and 16 and have had the privilege of being able to be a stay-at-home mom during their younger years. Now that they are older and a bit more independent, I have decided to go back to school and fulfill my goal of earning my degree in Nursing. Throughout the years of growing and maturing, I have learned how important it is to have good morals, values, goals, a passion for something, and a good education. I have not only taught my children the importance of these characteristics, but I have also shown them that regardless of one’s age or stage in life, that…

When I asked a friend who I should write this essay about, she asked me, “Who inspires you the most? Who makes you get up every day? Who makes everything worth it, and makes you want to do good things with your life?” To be quite frank, I had no idea. The answer then hit me; it is my nearly three year old niece, Kadynce Ryley Collins. She is all of those things and more embodied into one tiny person. She influences me (sometimes by force) to get out of bed every day, and makes me want to be a better person so that I will be a better role model for her.…
