And the second picture lacking body fat represents our society and what the media often times portrays as socially acceptable. The Images colors strike you especially in the second image when the shading is intensified to show how boney and unhealthy she really is, it is almost frightening. The white background made the girl stand out because there was no distracting color the main focus was on her. In the marlin photo it has a lot of things going on in the background so the visual of marlin is not as focused in as that of the second picture. …show more content…
The text on the images are appropriate on both images.
The photo of marlin, the text is White and in a different font from the more popular times new roman, along with different font the most important concept of the definition of role model are bolded and larger than the rest of the text. The picture might have been a little better and easier to read if the text had been black, and or if the bigger words were black so they would stand out better on the light blue background of the photo. Or the other option would to put a neutral background around the text so the print is easier on the eyes The font on both photos are very different speaking with two very different tones. The first image is playful and light with a more playful tone, the second image has
a
different font, so it gives off a more serious and edgy tone. Along with that the two photos are very readable from their intended distance.
The emotions that these photos evoke are deep, sad, confused, wanting to reach out. Mostly because that this is a big problem and a lot of younger teens are not comfortable in their own skin and often times the media id to blame for that, with pictures of stick thin models and ideas of perfection. But what the marlin Monroe photo advertises is self-worth and beauty from within and out. Both of the photos do agree with one thing though, that self-confidence and imagery are very important. What encourages me to move to read the text is how interesting the two picture are next to each other. The pictures by them self’s wouldn’t be nearly as powerful as if they were placed next to each other.
The argumentative purpose of these two photos are would you rather be unhealthy and insecure or a role model to women all around the world, the bigger picture is the world weight problem, mainly targeted at women. Women are very complex and can be the most confident, but at the same time can be very self-loathing, and perfectionists, mainly with self-imagery. We women are held to a standard that we need to all look “Beautiful” but beauty is different in all eyes. But the strive to be the “socially accepted beauty” can overcome some women, and turn them into self-loathing and self-destructive. These two photos could contain a very strong message and information which would get a lot of interest to read further into this person’s
paper.
