The first reason as to why I believe that schools need better and more comprehensive sex education is because it reduces risk behaviors in teens. Comprehensive sex education teaches students about the use of contraceptives which results in the reduction of teenage pregnancy rates. It educates students to be more aware of the possible negative outcomes of unprotected sexual intercourse such as unintended pregnancy. If a pregnancy is not planned before conception, a woman may not be in optimal health for childbearing. Given that a constructive and age-appropriate system of sex education is provided to students by schools, I think that students would be able to improve entirely in the aspect of reproductive and sexual health.
