One of the conflicts between the younger and the older generations is, Teenagers and college students do not have a huge demand for responsibilities. Most do not have families to support. Young people can do whatever they please. They do not have to worry about what they will have to do the next day. The older generations have a lot of responsibility, such as, they have to go to work to support their family, come home cook, clean, and be a role model to their young children.
Also, the older generations have a different view of life itself. They have experienced life first hand, they could have been in a war or the Great Depression. They know what how it is to have food rations and to fight for what they believe is right. The younger generations have to read about those events in history books and learn their own lessons. Such as, the consequences of their actions if they choose to "party till dawn" then have to get up for an eight o'clock class the next morning. They learned that it is not a good idea to do that, because they will not do as well in that class if they do not put there whole attention into it.
They also have to learn about their first loves, heart breaks and how to deal with them both. The older generations have seen all these, lived through them all and learned from them. Some of the older generations might feel they miss the "good times" and some do not feel that way.
Lastly, young people are not afraid to take risks. They will get up one day and jump out of a plane at 3,000 feet up in the air and plummet to the ground at 100 miles an hour and not think twice about it. The older people will think twice before they
