Theme Analysis Corpse Bride Essay
Tim Burton uses certain techniques to create a unique outlook on life and people/society. He has a unique visual style and imagination that expresses his inner thoughts. Tim Burton thought as fairy tales to be frightening, abstract stories and young children can relate to them because it represents the abstract of life, and how people would deal with those kinds of situations in life. It also shows how people would deal with things that are not understandable. In “Corpse Bride” Tim Burton creates the theme of; someone doesn’t have to be alive to be loved.
Tim Burton uses camera angles in “Corpse Bride” to create certain moods/actions towards the audience. He uses close ups to show there dull lifeless expression on Victor and Victoria parents. Also on the little boy and the grandpa it showed the bondage between the two and that downstairs is just as good as upstairs. Downstairs was livelier then upstairs it was color, love, and they cared for each other. Upstairs was the complete opposite it was dull, gloomy, and unhappiness.
He also uses camera angles on Lord Barkis. He used a low angle position on him to show he had power and he appeared bigger and stronger. It also mad Lord Barkis look evil of some sort, or he looks conceited and likes revenge on people. He wanted revenge on Victoria because, he wanted all of her money but she didn’t have any and that was the only reason he married her for. His plan was foiled because he thought he would get all her money. At the end he deserved what he got because he had killed Emily and wanted to kill Victoria, but he drunk the poison and he died.
