1. Analysis of Scenario
Jill and Phyllis are two friends that met while Phyllis was shopping at the fragrance boutique Jill operates. Phyllis’s marriage has recently fallen apart and she was planning on going back to college to start a new carrier, in hopes that her life would start to fall back together.
Phyllis is a shy and timid women, she is 36 years old, and she is most likely an introvert someone who “follows” others, takes orders, and doesn’t speak out of turn. She wants to have courage and be bold but doesn’t know if she has it within her. Whereas, Jill is very powerful and strong and someone who stands up for herself and takes charge operating the boutique and is most likely an extrovert.
One evening the two woman stopped at a coffee shop, phyllis was complementing Jill about standing up for herself, asking her how she “does it”, wishing she could be powerful and courageous like that. Phyllis says to Jill, “You really put victor O’Connell in his place” she can’t even imagine standing up for herself the way that Jill did. …show more content…
She explains how she looks for situations in which she can “get tough”.
All Phyllis want’s is to be more like Jill, but she doesn’t believe in herself and she thinks she doesn't have the courage to be a leader. She says she’s been a follower all her life and she won’t ever be able to change.
Jill explains that anyone can be a leader, but they have to actually want to be a leader. She says she is looking for an assistant and if Phyllis wants to be a leader Jill can teach her. Jill says she can give Phyllis the confidence to be a leader and possibly operate the fragrance
