Dear Mr. Manolio
After researching through the hiresmith.net database I came across your opening for a part time internship position, which was posted on October 15, 2011. I feel that at this point in my career I am suitable for this position and can contribute my interpersonal, quantitative, and analytical skills. I am currently still working on my Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and have three semesters remaining. My work experience, and the courses that I have taken, have all challenged me in ways that can contribute to the overall success of the company.
Last year I was employed by Westat as a research assistant to quality control a project for the Office of Personnel Management. This experience gave me a first hand training on paying attention to detail and making sure everything is correct and orderly. It taught me how to find an issue, report it, and then resolve it. I was also held responsible to train new employees and sit in meetings. All of this taught me more than just a technical skill, but also how to work well with others, maintain a good attitude, and be an effective leader.
As a current student enrolled in the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, I have taken many quantitative courses such as Accounting, Calculus, Economics, and Finance. These courses have trained me to become a well-rounded thinker and a problem solver. These skills can be very useful for investment brokerage as much of their work is related to crunching numbers and calculations. These classes have given me training on how to tackle problems in many different ways.
Upon careful review of my resume and summary of qualifications, please feel free to email me at asingh59@terpmail.umd.edu or call me at (240)-751-6840, as I would be happy to answer whatever questions you may have for me. I hope that we can set up an
