Criminal Justice Personal Statement Examples
Before I came to ILE I thought I was a strong leader. I made sure my Airman were taken care of and I did everything I could to make our work shift as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Now that I have a deeper understanding of the course material I now realize I am not doing enough and need to do a better job of ensuring my Airman are taken care of in every aspect. Over the next three to five years I want to finish my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and if the stars’ line up, make rank. Also, I want my Airman to be highlighted as much as possible in my unit. The keys to success will be in the material I choose to be the most valuable in the module reading and it all starts with FRLD. I will get out of my MBE-P role and strive towards …show more content…
In the past I incorrectly used progressive discipline and wondered why I was not reaching them; that will stop. I now see through recent conversations that letting an Airman slide on infractions it will degrade my reputation as well as my leaderships. I will never achieve that Reverent Power that will lead to the Transformative level I am trying to achieve. While furthering my education, I will alter or expand my secondary dimension of diversity which should coincide with becoming a better leader. More education in Criminal Justice will give me a foundational level of expertise when it comes to security and I feel it will help me better communicate with senior members on that operational and strategic level. Furthermore, being more educated in my craft will hold more weight when negotiating topics of security when events arise. As stated earlier, I believe I operate in an MBE-P manner and my subordinates, peers and superiors know that about me. I give my Airman room to lead unless I deem they are not fit to perform a function. My supervisor feels I need to be more involved and after being in ILE I now understand why she feels that

The next incident that I personally counseled you on was you being late for first formation. I am listing this incident again to inform you of a pattern that I am noticing. CPL Echevarria, which leads us into the present time incident 9 March 2017 you, release your section during the LPD without guidance, which was a mistake in itself. The problem was you told SSG Cavendar and myself that you did not know where they were at like they left on there on when you made the decision yourself. You also told me that SPC Willis was sick and that was the reason you let her go but I asked her over the incident the following day. She informed me when I talked to her that was not true and that means you lied to a noncommissioned officer not once but twice in the same infraction I will not accept or tolerate that from anyone in this section in a leadership position. My last infraction I will cover is that I told you not to leave without doing your monthly counseling’s and you did. I reminded periodically during the week that you needed to get on it and even gave you pointers on what to counsel your soldiers…

At the end of my junior year, I earned the rank Lieutenant Commander. With this rank I am in charge of the whole unit and have to know how to lead people in the best way. By going to leadership academy and a leadership conference, I realized there are different ways to lead different people. Realizing this is crucial because I cannot approach someone in a situation the same way I did with another person, I learned how to talk to certain people based on their personality.…

I have chosen to study history, business, sociology environmental science/ religious studies as an AS. I have chosen these courses because of the great deal of interest I have in them especially history and business, also because I have always been curious about how the business world works as it is such a significant thing in our lives.I find it incredibly fascinating to learn about what life was like then to what it is now, I enjoy seeing the progression or unfortunately at times regression. I have completed an online diploma course in my own time on The Rise of Fascism for enjoyment and to deepen my understanding of this significant area of history. During boot camp, I was never in a leadership role and therefore I tried to fly as far under the radar as possible. The recruits around me that I had made friends with in boot all tried to take this same mentality, to make boot camp go by as quickly as possible. However, I had failed many times to go un-noticed and this led to my rack-mate and I both spending a lot of our time on the quarterdeck. This soon began to cause conflict between my rack-mate and I, and led to the recruits around us trying to solve our problems for us. Soon I had a negative connotation and it took the rest of boot camp trying to make a positive impact on those around me, and get back to spending more time learning and less time on the quarterdeck. Through my experience at boot camp I had learned that even though an event may seem insignificant in some eyes, it is much larger in others’ eyes.…

When I joined the police department, I knew I wanted to be a part of something great. I wanted to leave a legacy and make an impression on others. I was the first in my family to choose a career in law enforcement, so initially, I was unaware of the challenges this career field came with. My mom was a teacher, and my dad worked in the printing business. Both were successful in their chosen fields, but they were blind to the demands required for a fulfilling career in law enforcement. To be successful, I would need to be observant of those around me who had found success. I would need to mirror their ways and incorporate their habits into my own. I would need to learn from their failures. Most importantly, I would need to learn what made them…

The world I am from is one of looking beyond the past and searching ahead. In the seventh grade, my seventh year of playing soccer, I had become adapted to the tougher, late-game situations, and being the second best goalie in the league (including the eighth graders), I had pride in my ability to perform under pressure. But, in the last few minutes of a tied game with a penalty kick against me coming my way, I was terrified. The shot had fired, and sure enough, blocked like I was trained to do. I immediately jumped on top of the ball, and the player, hoping to kick the ball out of my grasp, broke my right foot and became the Achilles’ heel to end my career.…

The leadership influences for me started on the first Monday morning quarters onboard the CGC Yocona. I was right out of recruit training, firing on all cylinders and ready to tow the Coast Guard line. Quarters was held on the mess deck and the young BM3 was handing out work lists for the day. I did not know who he was but I watched and listened to everyone call him by his first name. Once orders were given out to all parties he then asked if there were any questions. I was not introduced nor given a work party so I raised my hand to inquire where I was to go. I mistakenly asked him by his first name where I was to go. The morning turned from bright and casual to tense and stormy in an instant as he verbally tore into me as loud as possible. This degraded and embarrassed me which…

The police said it was a robbery and that my father car was found stripped and left up on blocks. My father was barely hanging on for dear life when one of the attorneys from his old job came to tell me that his disability would now be cut off because there would be no way to tell if his injuries was from the job or from the robbery. Oh, but if that wasn’t adding salt to an already open wound, Mack Cannoli arrived to ask me how was I going to pay my father’s debt now that he can’t. What the man had offered as a way to help pay the debt had me taking a swing at him, but his men stopped me. Luckily, the police officer who was investigating the robbery walked in.…
