Every time they talked about the immigrants they used the term Mexicans. A lot of the people who cross the border are not Mexicans. They come from all over to hop the border into America for a better life. People from El Salvador, Chile, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, etc. come to make money for their families. A lot of them have a hard time even respecting Mexicans, because of the abuse they encounter from Mexicans while trying to cross. While passing through Mexico a lot of Latinos/ Hispanics are raped, stolen from, or abused by Mexicans. Which brings me to another generalization; not every Latino/ Hispanic gets along with other Latinos/ Hispanics. A lot of them have their controversy with the others, and it is wrong of those men to assume they are all the same, or think the same. Every different country has its own culture and way of life; they even have their own language. It may be called Spanish, but there are different ways, different accents to the language to tell the culture apart from one another. The last generalization I was able to depict from the men was, they had this view of Latinos/ Hispanics coming to America to ruin things for Americans. This is not true; they see an opportunity for a better life, and they want it just as much as we do. If it were easy to obtain a green card, I’m sure none of …show more content…
The different trials and buses and rest stops the Latino/ Hispanics are able to use to get across the border plays a huge part in the number count of people who try to cross the border. The trails where set there from ancestors who did the same thing. They walked the paths, knowing other people after them would walk the same paths, and made it into a good walkway. The fence we saw towards the end of the video gave a good view of this. The bus system we saw of them helping across countries, they no longer have to walk the whole way; and there is less of a chance of them getting picked up and being deported back to their countries. Although, this is breaking the law by helping them come across the border illegally, it is a good way to save lives from bandits or gang members. The houses Latino/ Hispanics are able to stop at help them take a rest from eating sardines and crackers and give them the boost they need to complete the journey. Going back to the fence at the end of the video, how people would set out food and water for them, I believe there is a whole system not only for the Latino/ Hispanics who are crossing the border, but for the native s of whatever country or state they are crossing through. Sometimes people do bad things when in a state of desperation or hunger, and sleep deprivation. They know when people by a stock of sardines and crackers they are on a long journey
