Factors that may influence the equality of opportunity for individuals
There are many factors that may influence the equality of opportunity for individuals for example:
• Ethnicity- the fact or state of belonging to a group that has a common national or cultural tradition.
• Religious beliefs.- this is when you believe that there is a certain god for each religion for example Jehovah witnesses believe god doesn’t exist and they don’t celebrate anything.
• Social Class- a division of a society based on social and economic status for example: lower class, working class, middle class and upper class.
• Gender- the state of being male or female traditional concepts of gender.
Factors that may influence the equality of opportunity for individuals
Sexuality- Is the feelings and attractions felt towards other people but its not as easy as being straight or gay because people might have an attraction to one sex or might have an attraction to a diversity of people regardless of their gender or sexuality this may influence the equality of opportunity for individuals because there might be someone who is a colleague that you work with so they might have a different sexual preference so people may be biased against them.
Age- Is the length of time someone has lived for. Age may influence the equality of opportunities for individuals because you would treat them fairly even if one person was older than another person and you would give everyone young or old the same opportunities.

Family Structure- Is when there is different families for example: lone parents, nuclear families, extended families and reconstituted families. This may influence the equality of opportunity for individuals because families will care about family members equally and will spend time with everyone the same.
