Road to Excellence Cynthia Delacruz has always been dedicated to helping others around her and often puts herself last when it comes to friends and family. At the young age of 21, Cynthia had her daughter Mackenzie. When asked about how Makenzie impacted her life she responded, “It was definitely a big eye-opener for me. From that moment on, I realized that I needed to start giving it my all in order to support my daughter. Giving up isn’t an option for me, all this hard work is for her to have a better life.” While taking on the responsibilities of being a mother, she is also striving to become a Medical Assistant. Cynthia Delacruz is an extremely motivated and selfless individual with a big heart. Born and raised in Racine, Cynthia attended Park High School and loved it. When Cynthia was asked where she wanted to live she replied, “While I was in high school, I went on a western field study trip with my classmates to Colorado; it was then where I realized where I wanted to live.” She explained that it was a peaceful, open and colorful land of unmatching beauty. She was fascinated by the fact that although it was hot out, there was still snow. She also enjoyed the variety of wildlife she caught sight of. Cynthia has always enjoyed and appreciated the small things in life. Another aspiration she hopes to experience one day is to skydive. Although this thought terrifies her, she wants to do it to overcome her fear. The list of things she wants to accomplish in her life is endless, but her main focus right now is her daughter and furthering her education. She stated that regardless of where she ends up career wise, what is most important to her is that she enjoys what she does. She has always been passionate about helping others and will do anything in her power to do so. Which is an extremely good quality to have, especially aspiring to be in the medical
