SERIAL KILLER RESEARCH PAPER A serial killer is typically defined as a person who murders three or more people over a period of more than 30 days, with a "cooling off" period between each murder, and whose motivation for killing is largely based on psychological gratification (Princeton University).

He wasn’t really a serial killer to begin with he was actually a rapist. The reason he started killing was so his victims wouldn’t report him to the cops.
This could be called extrinsic but the killing became apart of his rotation that fascinated him as a person. “When he got out, he returned to his same pattern, though in order to avoid future chances of being caught, he began to murder his victims when he was done with them. All of his victims were young girls, usually from the lower classes and in need of work. He would lure them away under the pretense of looking for someone and offer them a reward for taking him where he needed to go. Then he would strangle them, rape them and stab them to death with a knife. Their bodies he would leave in the woods for scavengers to feed upon. His victims came one after another, like an obsession that he needed to continuously feed”. (BodyReport.com)
