Decimals Research Paper

After teaching students about fractions and how they work it is important to relate decimals to this topic on how it is expanded. Decimals are just fractions which are broken down into a decimal value system. The decimal point is shown to help the students understand the place value and helps them see the value of the decimal number being shown. Although, decimals are all a part of the mathematics learning system, it is very important to know how they can identify decimals, why is it important to everyday life, and how are they used to help us. First, decimals are introduced in elementary schools all across the nation and are shown on a number line scale. The scale is used to introduce place value and how to identify where the decimal digits go.
