Joan had a negative perspective about nursing homes and she didn’t want to ever be admitted to one even if it meant that her husband Jerry had to struggle to take care of her. On the other hand, Daniella was able to live with her daughter and son-in-law until they moved to Florida and even after that her family were willing to pay for her assisted living apartment, where she was able to receive all the care she needed and also able to make some of the decisions for herself. The difference between the two cases are, one client had family members to assist her with all of her needs and she didn’t have to struggle because she always was taken care of by her family members or health providers while in assisting living. I believe home health aid services are a great and cheap alternative where older adult could live in their homes comfortably. More and more older adults are learning about the Home Health aid services and many other services such as, adult day care and they are making use of them. They are also learning that they have many options that they could choose from other than nursing homes. I believe in the future many older adults would be able to stay in their home as long as possible until they are diagnosed with chronic illnesses that requires 24 medical
