Long term goal
Patient will demonstrate ability to increase pinch, grasp and fine motor coordination of the right hand independently within normal limit to perform ADL within 4 weeks.
Short term goal #1
Patient will demonstrate ability to increase pinch, grasp, and fine motor coordination of the right hand with supervision to perform handwriting and keyboarding skills within 2 weeks.
Activity #1
The patient will be standing to perform this task. The patient will take different colors of clothespins by trying to open and clip them into a metal stick by using lateral, 3- jaw chuck, tip to tip pinch, thumb opposition, and endurance. Once the patient is done clipping the pins on the metal stick, she is responsible of taking them from the metal to put into the basket. For precaution, the patient will take a 3 minute rest break while performing the activity to avoid fatigue. The patient will start with the yellow pin then progress to the green. The patient will perform this activity for 10-15 minutes.
