In the video, Emmanuel’s Gift, Emmanuel demonstrated occupational competence in various events throughout his life. As Emmanuel traveled through Ghana to pursue a higher paying job, he showed competence by bringing attention to the conditions of people with disabilities and how they are forced to living a life of begging. He paid attention to what disabilities these people had and came up with ideas on how to help them. He organized and planned events to raise money for them. The money he raised was used to making wheelchairs, crutches, and other tools to help individuals’ mobility and quality of life. His goal was to support people with disabilities and help live a better quality life. He created adaptive equipment for people based on different types of disabilities they had. He wanted to defuse the stereotype that handicapped people are destined to only be beggars. He designed an organization known as the Challenged Athletes Foundation to empower these people to find confidence, community, and conviction.
Occupational Competence in Emmanuel’s motor learning was also demonstrated throughout the video. After surgery to remove his deformed right leg below the knee, Emmanuel was provided a prosthetic leg. With some practice and recovery time, Emmanuel was able to walk without his crutches and ride a bike no longer with only one leg. He wanted to raise money and provide proper equipment for individuals to improve their quality of life. The negative assumptions and lack of respect people showed towards him over the years, motivated Emmanuel to pursue the occupation of riding a bike for a few reasons. He wanted to prove he could engage in the same activities as others even though he only had one leg. He also wanted to raise money and advocate for the disabled citizens of Ghana to improve their lives and health.
Patternicity?
Throughout the video, Emmanuel's occupation demonstrated patternicity. He would alternate between raising money to build adaptive equipments to organizing events to give the equipment to others to advertising for human rights. He continued this pattern throughout his journey.

The occupation of riding a bike for Emmanuel's foundation, influenced his engagement in everyday life. Each day he was fully engaged in advocating for disabled people and funding for the tools to improve their mobility.
