Describe The Factors That Occur In A Care Setting

Many things that people may do in a care setting can be seen as unacceptable care, carers may not intentionally set out to provide unacceptable care but many factors can make it difficult to provide acceptable care at all times. Wider factors contribute to unacceptable care such as ‘staff selection, training, staffing levels, senior leadership and the inspection regime’ cited in The Open University (2015, p.17). Although many of the duties which are carried out in a care setting are natural everyday tasks such as feeding someone or washing, they do require the correct training and support. If a place is understaffed then it can be difficult for the staff who are working to be able to complete all tasks to the best of their ability and to a standard that is seen as acceptable.
