Eva Mozes was born in 1934 in Transylvania, Romania, Eva had a twin sister named Miriam, and had two other siblings named Edit and Aliz, all girls. They lived with their parents, Alexander and Jaffa, which they were landowners and farmers, they were the only Jewish residents in the area. Fast forward 6 years later, never expected, the Hungarian Nazi armed guard occupied their village. In 1944, Eva and her family arrived by cattle car at the concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. Eva and Miriam continued to live life after that talk and more years pasted Miriam got married and tried to have children. She ended up getting sick and lost the baby. She tried one more time to have a child, she soon began to get sick again, and lost her second child. Doctors examined Miriam to figure out what was going wrong. They told her to get x-rays done, doctors were astonished to what they found. Miriam kidneys did not develop and where the size of a 10-year old’s kidneys size. Eva begged Miriam to not have another baby or it would kill her, but Miriam was settled on not giving up and had a third pregnancy which the baby
