The journey I would never forget I love to travel a lot, I love to go to other countries and see what life is like there and experience their cultures; I have been to so many countries but none of them interested me like the ‘Cayman Islands’. Cayman Islands is a very small country in the Caribbean, I was told that it is so small that you can actually walk to the end of it. My dad lives in the Cayman Islands and I lived in Nigeria, my dad usually comes back on holidays to visit. I had never been to the Cayman Islands also known as ‘Grand Cayman’; I had no idea of what it was like. One afternoon, a week before summer holidays I was in the living room watching TV, when my phone rang and it was my dad and he said he would want me to come to the Cayman Islands for summer vacation; I was so excited, I was anxious and curious. School was finally closed and it was summer holidays and I started packing my clothes and things I needed for my vacation. On the day of my trip, when I arrived at the airport my dad was already waiting for me; when I saw him I ran quickly to him and gave him a hug. My dad looked a little bit different from the last time I saw him, he arms and chest looks bigger, seemed like he had been weight lifting, he had more muscles and looked strong like a wrestler. I asked him “dad have you been working out”? And he smiled and answered “yes, I have been working out darling “. He helped me with my luggage to the car, as we drove home I asked so many questions, I could not see much because it was night time and everywhere was dark, all I could see was buildings with lights. We arrived at the house, dinner was already made; macaroni and cheese, rice, chicken and vegetables, I was so hungry, I quickly went upstairs took a shower and headed downstairs for dinner I was taught to always pray before eating so I said a prayer and my dad and I ate until we could eat no more. After

I wanted to go to him and ask him what was wrong, but I didn’t dare…But then I couldn’t stand it anymore and I got up and ran down the hall to the kitchen. There, in the middle of the room, wearing his Goodyear jacket and work clothes was my father. He was on his hands and knees, his head hanging as though it were too heavy to support, and he was rocking back and forth and babbling in a rhythmical stutter. It’s funny, but the first thing I thought when I saw him like that was the way he used to let me ride on his back, when I was little, bucking and neighing like a horse. And as soon as I thought it, I felt my heart lurch in my…

When I was 18, my family took a trip to Cancun for Spring Break. I absolutely loved the beaches and palm trees, the white sand, hot sun and blue waves. Ever since then I have had a real passion for tropical islands. My favorite and perhaps the most beautiful Islands I've researched are the Cayman Islands. I've only seen pictures and heard stories but I've already decided that's where I am getting married. I still however, don't know anything about the islands. My love for these islands and my thirst for knowledge on the topic has driven me to do more research and find out the history behind the Cayman Islands. I want to know everything about them, so far the only thing I know is that there are three islands, Grand…

I feel as if it would have been easier if I had written this in a traditional text format. The reasoning behind this is because there are so many details my father gave me. He went through a mass of experiences I would not be able to handle, A specific tale he gave me was when he first got to the United States. He did not know any English when he began to…

I spent some time at my aunt and uncle’s house with my 2 cousins and one day they decided to do something out of the house. We went to this beach called “Playas,” located one hour away from their house, and we were having fun all together. Later on, my uncle “Jimmy” and my cousin “Pipo” and I decided to go into the beach and suddenly huge waves came towards us and pull us deeper to the ocean. We were trying to get out, but each time we tried to swim to the land the water pull us back farther. After that, my uncle came out of the water because he is tall and he went to look for help. Then, some lifeguards came out of nowhere and my uncle told them about us in the water. They ran to look for us in the water and save us.
