Descriptive Essay: Auburn, Alabama
Auburn, Alabama is a city very special to my heart. I have been to Auburn countless times and many times before I was even born. My grandparents, aunt, and my dad have all lived in Auburn. My aunt and her family still live in Auburn. When we travel to Auburn, my whole family gets to stay at her house. It is so fun to have all my family together in a city we all love.
Auburn is located in southeast Alabama, it is about a hour away from the state capital, Montgomery. Auburn is home to Auburn University. The town around the university used to be small, but is growing and developing into a larger city. The downtown area of Auburn, located right off of campus, is where Toomer’s Drugs is. Toomer’s Drugs is one of my favorite places in Auburn because

I love shopping in downtown Auburn in all the cute boutiques. I normally find a really cute outfit to wear to the upcoming football game. I love going to Auburn football games and cheering on the team. I always end up standing the whole time and annoying the crowd around me who is also trying to watch the game. I can not help but get excited when I see my team breaking tackles and scoring touchdowns. On Sunday my family and I get up early and go to church. After church we enjoy a nice lunch before driving home.
Auburn is special to me because it is my second home. I have grown up going to football games and spending weeks at my aunt’s house in the summer. My grandfather played basketball and my dad played baseball for Auburn University. As a result of them being so heavily involved in Auburn, my whole family supports the school in whatever we can. We attend football, basketball, and baseball games; we occasionally attend special dinners with coaches as well. Since Auburn is so special to me I plan to attend college at Auburn University, which would make Auburn even more special to me than it already is.
Auburn is definitely my favorite place to visit. It brings me joy to be with my family doing what we love. I am so thankful for all the opportunities to visit the beautiful campus and surrounding city. In Auburn I am able to do so many things and spend time with the people I love. I can not wait to live in this beautiful

I like Randolph-Macon because it is a small school with less than 1,200 students. The atmosphere on the campus is beautiful, I love walking through the campus when I visited my brother up there. Also, the reconstruction they are doing is going to be really nice. I have been told from a lot of people that have gone there, that there is a great bond between your classmates. Going to a small college like Randolph-Macon has its advantages that big colleges do not have.…

Many of my friends were applying to five or six colleges, hoping they would get accepted to one. Because I knew exactly where I wanted to go, I did not have to do that. I did not waste my time and money taking unneeded tests. I chos because a few of my family members also attended here and I knew a lot about the school before attending. is also one of the only colleges that had my major, Commercial Recreation. Because most colleges do not give this as an option as a major, I did not have many choices to choose from for a college. The other colleges that did have a variation of my major were either too expensive or too far away in another state. is only forty minutes from my home and has a decent tuition price; which made it a good choice for me.…

“She’s hideous!” Said my best friend Brando, short for Brandon. “Just do it!” he kept saying, along with his brother Kevin. I was afraid. “Don’t be such a pussy.” Kevin yelled as he pushed me forward, almost knocking me off my feet and into the cross street at the top of our cul-de-sac. That was where the house stood. Directly across Mountain Ave. That was where she would appear, the “hideous” woman. The one we all called Bloody Mary. All you had to do was approach the dingy house where the old wooden rocking chair on the porch would rock back and forth, back and forth, even on the most calm nights. All you had to do to make her appear was go right up to the rocking chair and say her name three times with your eyes closed. They said that once you opened them, she would be sitting in the rocking chair before you, her face burned and bloody and wretchedly gesticulating as she stared into your soul. I had never done the deed. I had only heard the stories. And there I stood, receiving the peer pressure that we were all so quick to inflict on others, but cringed inside when it was brought down upon us. There I stood, searching my mind for any excuse to not cross Mountain Avenue that Saturday night.…

It feels like it was just yesterday when I first joined LA Fitness. I was ready to take control of my life and win the battle of fat for good. It was a warm Saturday morning toward the end of April when I put on my new pair of running shoes. I got into my car and drove three blocks to the gym. As I walked into the new remodeled gym I was quickly greeted by two beautiful girls that looked like they just came out of a magazine. I could not help but feel knots in my stomach of raging insecurities as they told me to take a seat and wait a moment for Boris to help get me started with my new membership. My cheeks flushed red when I first looked at Boris. The man calling my name with his bright smile on his face was gorgeous; it almost hurt to look at him. He had the body like those strong men in magazines posing with beautiful women. Boris took me into his office and signed me up for a month to month membership; he even included a free personal training session to help get me started.…
