You shouldn't have bugs on the menu because there can be health risk, it can be hard to convene westerners that they are good, and bugs are expansive. Some people say bugs are not good for you, but some say they are very good for you. What do you think?
One example is that there can be health risks. From in the paragragh it says “Think of flies flitting around on dog poop, cockroaches scampering through a sewer, and maggots wriggling in a garbage bin full of rotting food”. Scientist are not sure about health risks with eating bugs because the thing

Taking into consideration how eye-opening the fact of how many insects we consume, as well as that many people would be grossed out at the mention of it, I believe ignorance is indeed bliss. In light of the fact that our food does not have any noticeable changes in flavor or quality, I doubt people would take a second look at their…

Which is classified as a crustacean under the order of Isopoda (Isopoda). The organism is generally characterized by a pair of antennae, seven pairs of legs, and a segmented body (Isopoda - Slaters). These species are commonly known as pill bugs; they are terrestrial crustaceans that are oval shaped and a little flat. Pill bugs live in gardens, fields, forests or any region that is moist and are most likely found under rocks. The reason behind as to why isopods prefer a moist area is because they don’t have a good waterproofing cuticle wax, which causes them to dry out easily (“Critter Catalog," n.d., para. 8). Pill bugs are also known as “roly-polies” because of their ability to roll up into a ball.…

Some conclusions that we got were that pill bugs are not well adapted to areas that might be colder or pill bugs won’t exist in that type of weather. Pill Bugs live under rocks or even beneath the rocks. As it is seen on figure 1 the pill bugs had more movement on the 25 C than in the other temperatures. Therefore, pill bugs 25 C is their normal habitat temperature because it has a perfect weather for them to be able to survive. One probable error that the group had was when one of the pill bugs die during the 0 C temperature because it was too cold for them. At the end of the result it was conclusive that the pill bugs had few movements during colder temperatures like 0 C and 35…

This lab felt very “slow” because there was not a lot of action going on. The pill bugs would either walk around in circles or stay put. However, it was both fun and annoying when my group tried to put the pill bugs in the chamber and take them out. We had to put a lot of effort to get the pill bugs on to the paint brushes because they would scurry around and it would take a while to find them. Also, it was cool to see the pill bugs use their defense mechanism (it only happened once) by going into a hard circular shape when being prodded at by a paintbrush. This lab had a lot of experimental areas. The amount of water or basic or acidic solution to the paper may have affected results. For the first part of the lab, outside factors could have…

Eating has profoundly impact and influence on individual life. We can tell where most people are going to end up in life simply based on the choice they made on food. Michael Pollen discusses in his article " The Omnivore’s Dilemma" a true understanding of what we eat and what we should eat. Pollan points out that alternative method of producing food that is being overshadowed by the big, industrial system we have in place to provide consumers with sustenance.…

When it came to the Telamonia spider the situation seemed so far out of touch that I walked away from the essay not having the urge to check the toilet out before using it. I have never heard of the situation before then and though it seemed very “official” and well presented, at the very end where it says, “It is now believed that these spiders can be anywhere in the country. So please, before you use a public toilet, lift the seat to check for spiders. It can save your life!”, that where I questioned the fact whether it was real or not, mainly because of the panic and the exclamation mark that communicates shouting to me. Therefore I call it out as a hoax to simply get people talking and to create a silly fear.…

Another thing that I disagree with is a when the author states that we need to stop the food companies from adding so much added sugar and we the consumers need to stop eating so much of it. Of course I agree to the part of the sentence but the second part is a little harsh to me. The way it comes off in the article is cruel and I would say many people might take offense to it. I don’t think that the author has any right to tell us what we should or shouldn’t eat.…

When it comes to science, we have to test these ideas out and see if they are trusted by other sources. If we see an article with false information, such as the benefits of consuming sperm, we shouldn’t accept it until it has been proven correct. This kind of investigation is necessary to discover the truth, like the untold history of a mummy. Moreover, the effort of testing and reviewing scientific concepts should be recognized even if the conclusion sounds strange or untrustworthy.…
