There are many similarities between the book Giver and the movie Giver. The movie and the book had the Giver stay back to help everyone in the community like he trained Jonas to be the next receiver. The book and the movie both have Gabe staying at the Jonas house in the beginning of the movie and the book. In the book Giver and the movie Giver Jonas had the same rules to follow in his job of being the Giver. In both the book Giver and the movie Giver everyone chanted the person's name that was going to be released after the ceremony. Finally, in both the book and movie the Giver told Jonas that Rosemary was his daughter. The differences between the book Giver and the movie Giver was that Jonas never went to the nurturing center
to get Gabe at the end of the movie. In the book, Gabe was in Jonas house the whole time after he was transferred. Another difference between the book Giver and the movie Giver is that in the book Lily turned 8 and wanted to get her bike, but in the movie, Lily turned 9 and got her bike which she always wanted. A third reason is that in the book Jonas and the Giver made the paln together. In the movie the plan to escape just came to Jonas while he was sleeping when the Giver and Jonas were supposed to make the plan together. The final difference between the book and the movie was that Jonas and Fiona never kissed in the book, but in the movie, Jonas and Fiona kissed 2 times. I think the book was more effective than the movie. The book was more effective because the book had better details. I liked the book more because in the book it showed what actually happened, but then in the movie, it was having more than it was supposed to have. Another reason why I like the book is because they went a lot slower which meant that it showed more detail. In the movie, the everything was going way to fast. The third reason that I like the book more than the movie. I like the book more than the movie because in the book Jonas did nothing wrong, but in the movie Jonas break his rules of being the receiver by showing Fiona what it felt like to be sliding. Finally, I like the book more than the movie. The book had no one involved in the plan for Jonas to escape, but in the movie they had everyone involved and nobody was involved which made it more fun to read.
