For Diploma in Business Studies Year 2 Students
FINAL Level 3 Option and Elective Exercise in October 2013 semester
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO RANK?
In May 2013, you have indicated your interest in the internship programme and your preferred option.
Following this exercise, the School has shortlisted about 130 students (cut-off point of cum GPA:
3.3696) for the 6-month Internship Programme. Students who were not within the cut-off point would have been scheduled for the 2-month Internship Programme in September 2013 and another batch in
March 2014.
Another cut-off for the 6-month Internship Programme was determined after the August 2013 examinations and about 130 students have been shortlisted (cut-off point of cum GPA: 3.3676). It is possible for students to be excluded from the 6-month Internship Programme as a result of the second cut-off point. They will then be scheduled for the 2-month Internship subsequently. The 2-month
Internship Programme is a graduation requirement, if you are not placed on the 6-month Internship
Programme.
Although you have ranked your top 5 options in May 2013, you are all required to do this FINAL
Option and Elective ranking exercise as no appeal for a change will be entertained thereafter.
All of you will have to rank the options and electives because we will use the results from the exercise to plan for the options and electives to offer. This includes the number of tutorial groups to open for each option.
Although the School of Business and Accountancy will take reasonable effort to open up sufficient places for each option and elective so that students are able to enroll into the option of their choice, the availability of any academic plan (option) or elective depends on the number of places/resources available and the number of students vying for these available places. The School reserves the right to withdraw any academic plan (option) or elective in the event of under-subscription.
