When we are deployed the Non Commissioned Officers we have been told to listen to could be the one’s who keep us alive. NCO’s are the more mature and experienced soldiers that lead from the front. The non-commissioned officer corps is often referred to as "the backbone" of the armed services, as they are the primary and most visible leaders for most military personnel. Additionally, they are the leaders primarily responsible for executing a military organization's mission and for training military personnel so they are prepared to execute their missions. NCO training and education typically includes leadership and management as well as service-specific and combat training.…

In addition, to a staff recognition program, I created a paraprofessional in training presentation. The goal of the presentation was to train future paraprofessionals in their role and expectations as it relates to school policy. The presentation helped teachers provide less training to paraprofessionals during instructional time. They were better able to focus on teaching and achieving student goals. New paraprofessionals were more confident when stepping into the classroom. I take pleasure in being able to help teachers and paraprofessionals work together to meet the needs of the students.…
From working on these three assignments over the past few weeks, I learned a great deal of information dealing with some issues pertaining to both One-Mile and the Chico Co-op. From doing research on One-Mile, I learned that there are a lot of problems concerning the homeless issue and cleanliness of the park. The issues dealing with the Co-op were mostly centered around their relocation situation. At the moment, relocation is the Co-op’s main goal but they are experiencing problems with finding the ideal, sustainable location that will keep their users satisfied. Finding out the specifics of these problems was quite challenging. I had to look into each source even further to find more information with both place’s problems. The research methods…
I have not chosen this subject lightly. To me, leadership is the key to success in military operations, in peace and in war, as it has always been through the centuries. Yet it is a subject that doesn't get the attention it deserves today. My purpose with this letter is to stimulate some thoughts, and to put leadership in the forefront of your minds, where it belongs. I want you to read carefully and seriously what I have to say.…
It is my opinion that military leadership, unlike a lot of “leadership” positions in the civilian sector, actually develops one into a leader rather than a manager. Managers are often situated in the back of the action, while military leaders are encouraged to lead from the front. Mangers focus on things while leaders are focused on people. Managers are trained to organize individuals to do things right. Leaders are trained to inspire individuals to do the right thing; to motivate and influence.…
Lack of communication in the army means important decision on anything would not be made. Taking from the Chief of Command, if he did communicated to his dependents on decisions such as going to war, or even making the change of declaring General Martin Dempsey chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff how could we improved the nation better yet a team; because all in all the Unites States army is a TEAM. Not having communication within a constituency of people creates an anarchy of chaos.…
My experience as an MFT Trainee consisted of working with the below poverty level population. The mental health status varied from a wide variety of psychosocial and emotional factors that contributed to specific diagnosis, which also included substance abuse/use. Clients of different cultures and languages would arrive to a clinic, feeling unsure about sharing their personal struggles and not knowing what to expect from the evaluating therapist. My experience stems from living in the same underserved community as the clients I worked with. This has allowed me to create a trustworthy and non-judgmental atmosphere where the client could feel safe and is more readily engaged and self-disclose information more openly. I was able to easily build…
According to Army Regulation six hundred dash twenty, chapter two, paragraph two dash one, subsection (a): “the chain of command assists commanders at all levels to achieve their primary function of accomplishing the unit’s assigned mission while caring for personnel and property in their charge.” What that means is that the chain of command facilitates communication from the highest commander to the lowest private as fast and accurate as necessary in order to get the mission accomplished and the soldiers and equipment taken care of. The chain of command is basically like a ladder, where you go as high or low as you need to, to take care of the issue. It’s designed so that the issues can be addressed and resolved at the lowest level. But, if the issue cannot be resolved at the lowest level, you can proceed to the next echelon to seek a solution. “Proper use of the chain of command is vital to the overall effectiveness of the Army.” [Army Regulation six hundred dash twenty, chapter two, paragraph two dash one, subsection (c)] The enlisted soldiers are required to use the Noncommissioned Officer Support Channel before using the chain of command. The proper way to use this is from the bottom up. First, you speak to your team leader/squad leader, then the Section Sergeant, then Platoon Sergeant, then First Sergeant, and finally the Command Sergeant Major. But when you are in a shop with a Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) and an Officer in Charge (OIC), you speak to the NCOIC first, and if you cannot reach the NCOIC, or they cannot take care of your issue, you speak to the OIC. I did not find any information to support or oppose this assumption. The chain of the command defines the relationship of juniors and seniors within Army organization. An effective chain of command is essential for the Army to carry out its mission. Good leadership supports an effective chain of command.…

Looking back on the course as a whole, I have learned how to effectively analyze my audience and distinguish and adapt my writing for that audience. I learned different ways to make technical documents look appealing to readers while also using graphics ad white space to effectively show the words of the documents. I learned how to work better in a team setting as well as improved my individual writing. My sentence structure and effectiveness has definitely improved over the semester as well. My thoughts about technical writing and technical documents wasn't changed much except for how much thought needs to be put into who the audience is and how to write specifically to that audience. Learning how to write memos effectively and just the general format for them will help me in the workplace. The help I received on my resume and cover letter during the course will help me tremendously getting into the workplace.…
This is a reflective essay about my experiences as a nursing student whilst on my six weeks’ placement with Community Treatment and recovery team. The purpose of this essay is to examine the use of SWOT analysis to identify weakness and strength in order to make improvement on the care we deliver in clinical practice. I chose this exact issue as I spent a significant amount of time using my communication and interpersonal skills to build trusted and clinical relationship with many patients. In other to protect the identity of the placement provider and maintain confidentiality for the patients, I will refer to my placement providers as ‘East and West Mental Health Trust, Community Treatment and recovery team,…
Instead of being just the regular Teaching Assistant who takes attendance during class, I plan to personally connect with my students. I will be a TA who students respect and find approachable and dependable. I will accomplish that by not only learning all of my student’s names, but by getting to know each individual’s interests and goals. I want my students to come to me when they need help.…

I attended a Board of Supervisors meeting on January 22, 2014. It was set to begin at six o’clock in the evening, and I began recording notes at 5:52. Before the start of the meeting a supervisor, Wayne Hazzard, greeted me and my father. At six, when it was slated to begin, Sean Davis banged his gavel to signify it has started. This followed with an invocation and the pledge of allegiance. Before the invocation Aubrey Stanley spoke of two tragedies involving deaths as of late to keep in our prayers.…
