Is the cycle for inventory a problem? Why or why
Many companies have inventory in which they must manage in order to supply the demand of the consumer or customer. Our project is based on the research of Inventory management and how it is applied or used in the Cracker Barrel Restaurant. In this project, we have elected to explain and determine how the company develops its inventory plans to support the products or services they provide to the consumer. On our field research we asked a series of questions to one of Cracker Barrels' Associate Managers Tom Kelly trying to get a general idea of how or what methods they use to manage the company's inventory.…
For Main Street Liquor, There really is not a OMM put into place in this store. Yes, you needed to provide excellent customer service and sell liqour or beer. They have absolutley no inventory process in this location. This can be a very dangerous thing for anytype of store. With out having a proper OMM, it can lead to shortages, and loss of pofit for the store and owner. I started a small inventory process for them, and was finding a lot of shortages thorough out the store. This is a small privatly own business. The few employees that they do have, are responsible for everything in the location when they are on. They also are in charge of watching all customers, so there are no theifts.…
Firstly, Spanish Tavern is a very successful restaurant. They have won many awards for their food. For example, they won the “Best of Spanish Business” award and many ZAGAT awards. Successful restaurants usually get lots of money. The prices for the food are reasonably expensive. If you added all the people that go to Spanish Tavern, then add the money each of those people spent, you would get lots of money. It shouldn’t be a problem for Spanish Tavern to stay in business.…
2. How to maintain strong customer base so that she can eliminate the impact of the economy downturn. The restaurant sales revenue will hit a dramatic downturn in the following season when less family and friends are coming in.…
Overview: Southern Steakhouse is a family restaurant chain located in Canada and the United States. Michelle Rhodes accepted a server position for the summer and was only required to do reduce training due to her previous experience. Barbara Taber, one of three bartenders, has been working at the Hamilton location for four years and only speaks to the new employees when necessary, creating tension in the work environment. The new management team decided the employees with the best sales results would be given the better shifts. By the middle of July, there were a few incidents with drink orders that Michelle tried to discuss with Barbara, since it was impacting customer service. On July 28, Michelle is faced with another drink incident with Barbara and is debating if she should discuss this situation with management.…
There are three separate business spartners that have all gone in together to buy a bar. Rob and Steve originally invested forty thousand a piece, this was the first bar they had ever opened, so after learning they had insufficient funds they sought out to find a third investor. Who they found was another friend named Scott who invested twenty five thousand dollars of his own money. The ownership was split thirty seven and a half percent to each Rob and Steve, and Scott held the remaining twenty five percent as a silent partner. The first two months of opening the business went great, there was two hundred people a night that would come through the doors, it was booming. With Rob being the only one managing the bar due to Scott and Steve being preoccupied with their own jobs it soon led to Rob taking advantage of the situation. Without any supervision Rob began to treat the facility as a free for all and gave out six thousand dollars worth of alcohol in just two nights, this started to happen more frequently after the second month of operations. Their friendship got in the way of stepping on each others feet and no one would stand up to Rob and tell him what needed to be said. Since the bar had only been open less than a year, they are already beginning to lose money at the ten month mark,…
The purpose of this research was to determine how performance is affected segment by segment at the Blue Bowl restaurant. The team’s research question in basic terms was to determine how to improve performance during peak guests count to better serve the customer on days that where not normal operating days primarily Friday and Saturday. Every customer is referred to as a guest and guest count is used in all functions of the operations. Every 30 minutes management record the number of guests who have placed an order and compares that to labor costs which broken down in 30 minutes segments at $4.00 per hour. One such way was to record data every 30 minutes during what we determine was the peak or rush hours. The question becomes how to best capture a true and complete record of the number of complaints given to management. Below are the results we came up with.…
We weren’t even greeted properly, we had ask to sit in the bar area, and the hostess told us to go ahead and didn’t even take us there just pointed to where it was. I felt she was snotty and was put out by having to deal with customers. Her attitude was horrible. (pg38) My boyfriend and I are sports fans, that’s why we decided to sit in the bar area so we could watch ESPN. There weren’t that many tables in the bar about 6 total, two had dirty dishes on them and two needed washed, one was occupied so we took the only available and clean table. I didn’t understand it really, they weren’t real busy, and everyone seemed to be doing nothing for towards what customers want.(pg38) The one other table that was occupied was people who were also disturbed by the lack of professionalism that was being displayed. One guy even commented on it, I in return said “If I was the boss a lot of people would be losing their jobs tonight”. Their service delivery systems seemed to be failing tonight. (pg38)…
When forming the new system of government for America, the framers of the Constitution understood early on that if they were not careful, any one group could abuse the power bestowed upon them. In order to prevent this potential exploitation from occurring the framers were certain to build a systems of checks and balances. Within this system rests the three branches of government. They are the executive, the legislative and the judicial branches. Each of the three branches is responsible for its own functions and each are responsible for providing necessary oversight to the other.…
As time progressed I was able to improve my skills each day which I finally completed my training. I started to work and get minimum wage and including tips however, it was based on how busy the restaurant is each day. The customers were pleased with their service hence same people continuously enter the restaurant in a daily basis which brought a good reputation for the restaurant itself. Occasionally the restaurant would get busy at some part of the day which would be great because I was able to meet new people and please them with great food. The partners that were in charge of this restaurant had a discussion about the productivity of the work which they finalized to come up with a decision to hire more people due to how busy and successful the restaurant is running. After five months have passed they have noticed some down falls toward the restaurant. Fewer customers came to the restaurant and the restaurant lost a lot of money due to me as an employee, also, customers have noticed a change ever since they hired a new worker name Ravi at the kitchen because one person that used to work there bought a bakery shop and left this restaurant and the street closing…
Football has become the most popular sport in America. Boys start playing at the age of 6 and, if they turn pro, could play into their 30’s or even 40’s. Some people will say, “They know what they’re signing up for” or “The players choose to play the game”. Just because they may choose to play the game, does that mean that they don’t deserve the very best protection that technology can afford them. I don’t think so. The more we learn about what “playing the game’ can do to the human body, in particular the brain, it only makes sense that we use the latest technology to help prevent as much damage as we can.…
The Broadway Café was first established in 1952 by my grandfather. The Broadway Café immediately became the hotspot, but over time lost business due to its lack of ability to compete with competitors in the 21st century. I have recently inherited the Broadway Café and have transformed it into the business it should be in the 21st century. I started the café off with a competitive advantage where it can level with competitors around the area. The café has affordable and reasonable prices for the customers which puts the café at a cost leadership advantage and as well as a differentiation advantage with its unforgettable recipes that my grandfather has kept all these years. The Broadway Café has managed to stay at a competitive advantage by implementing IT into the café. There’s available entertainment on certain nights, Wi-Fi and a Kiosk accessible to the customers, a customer loyalty program…
Our usual weekend ritual involved going to the bar immediately after work. This week we were especially ready to go and have some fun because it had been extremely busy. We had worked ten hour days all week. Our supervisor even told us if we didn’t get all the orders done before the end of the day on Friday we…
Analysis: I did not have a particularly “high reward” associated with the woman the reward increased as I was responsible for bringing her into the restaurant and though she was drunk I assumed that in her state she would be happy to have people help her rather than wander alone. I placed a “high reward” on the staff at Applebee’s since the establishment expects my business, has the ability to help, and is run by what I assume are human beings capable of pitying a victim of domestic abuse as I was. The staff was incredibly supportive to the women once I more coherently explained what happened and this improved my opinion of them, which is why I left a larger tip for the bartender as she did much of the dealing with the women which was admirable. The woman unfortunately did not act as I expected and while I could externally attribute it to the alcohol in her system the point is that she went very quickly from being helpless to demanding. Felt awful about how she treated the people that went out of the way to help her especially since she was treated well by them because I convinced the staff to help her. I still would help someone else hysterical like her though making me feel she was ultimately “low reward” while I would have viewed Applebee’s harshly and not ever returned had they not helped making them “high…
Having a tour around the restaurant, I noticed that the workers are friendly and able to serve the large number of customers. The guests are satisfied with the services they get from this restaurant. The staff does not ignore calls and they talk in a professional and courteous manner. Listening to the staff responding to the guests over the phone shows that the staff has respect for the customers and they have effective communications skills. The workers are clean and the utensils used to serve are also clean. This is the restaurant where customers’ orders are considered. The customer service is excellent because the customer eats the food they ask for and even have some offer to welcome the customers. The waiters are able to save discrepancies whenever they arise. The answer politely and listen to the views of the customers. The housekeepers also are warmly welcoming and their services are effective. The rooms and the beddings are clean and the customers enjoy these…
