Today I am here to talk about a subject that has been around for a very long time and is very controversial.
Throughout the world, people are constantly fighting the discrimination battle, whether its race, religion, appearance or anything else that makes us all different. One problem the population is battling on a day to day basis takes place in the workplace, and it's called the gender pay gap. Women who are just as well educated as men are not receiving the equal pay they deserve. They, in fact, earn 16.3% less than men in Europe. Do you not think this is wrong? We all deserve equality.

This is a term used to describe the unbreakable barrier that keeps certain people from climbing up the corporate ladder, regardless of their qualifications or achieve-ments. This is obviously a metaphorical term, yet it is one of the main reasons women are unable to advance in corporate business. Women are the most common group to experience the glass ceiling because of many factors that affect their working hours, most being things women cannot avoid and what some would say they are obligated to do. These can include things such as women having children and taking time off for maternity leave, looking after children and taking care of relatives and also doing more unpaid work at home like house-work, you know the essentials that are expected of women these days. How do males expect women to maintain a healthy family while also advancing up the corporate ladder? These factors can impact on women’s earning by up to 16.3%. However, when a man has time off for paternity leave, his pay is not docked. This is the result of an unfair society and is con-tributing massively to women being blocked by the glass
