Do violent video games cause behavior problems?
A couple of years ago the United States had suffered numerous shootings in public places. Some heads of the Congress mentioned that violent video games were the cause of those malicious actions. In addition, Congress wants to shutdown violent video game developers and restrict rated M for mature. What would be your opinion on this argument? Titles like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto are the most popular violent games in the world. These games are classified rated M. Even though parents know the violence of the games they still buy them for their kids. When the kids get very deep into the game that is when they attract the character of the console. They think that life is a game and whatever they do doesn't have any consequences. It's at that time that they open minds to malicious acts in life. For example, if you start playing a war game for a while, before you know it you become an expert on classifying weapons.
Back in December, 2012, a horrible shooting occurred in an elementary school located in Connecticut. A gunman with no apparent motive walked inside classrooms and started shooting at children with no mercy. A total of 20 kids and 5 adults were killed. After this massacre he ended up killing himself. This caused the red lights on of the White House and Obama to speak. When investigators looked up his criminal background, they found to be clear. When they searched his home, they found numerous violent video games.
As years passed, graphics on video games have become more realistic and intense. This has caught the attention of older people not just kids. When a new game is going to be released people tend to wait in line at midnight to purchase it. Not only are kids waiting in line, but adult gamers with more responsibilities in their homes are also waiting to purchase video games. Others in Congress have a different perspective.
