DOgs Vs Cats as pets
Dogs have been long described as man’s best friend. Dogs make better pets/companions than cats because they are more interactive, dependable, and cleaner. Some pet owners may say that cats and dogs are without a doubt comparable as far as who is the best. Dog owners that are more interactive with their dog or more than one dog can enjoy going to the park with them. While at the park dogs unlike cats can be a fun and healthy companion by going on a walks for however long distances you please, or go for a run to keep yourself and the dog in shape. Playing fetch with your dog, whether throwing a Frisbee or a ball around on land or in water can be a very fun time no matter if there is snow out on the floor or a beautiful day out in the park. Cats cannot go outside on a day that it is snowing because they can fall inside the snow and freeze. I do know a friend of mine that had a cat freeze to death by getting stuck in the snow a year ago in February. Unfortunately they didn’t find out he was there dead till the snow started to melt away. Dogs can be big helps around the house unlike cats, the only thing there useful for is to keep mice out of the house. They can be used as a guide for the blind (Seeing Eye dog) without them the blind would always have to depend on a person whether a relative, friend or hired help to get around the house and anywhere else you need to be. They can also be used as service dogs that are trained dogs that detect subtle changes in a diabetic patient’s body chemistry that occur when the levels of glucose in the blood drop too low or rise too high. Either can lead to seizures, convulsions, diabetic coma, and death. Other dogs have been trained to respond to heart attacks, and to recognize changes in the blood pressure of their owners. Unlike a cat that don’t have the capabilities to do anything like that. Dogs also are trained respond sounds like smoke alarms, the telephone, oven timer, alarm clock, doorbell/door knock, and name

How many times have you seen a cat play with their owner or run and fetch a stick? How many times have you seen a deputy cat? On the many occasions that you happen to see a dog, are they always so lazy and cannot be bothered to play with you? Scientists have studied and interpreted the ways of these species. They have come up with conclusions to support their research as well as many similarities and differences between both species. Both of these sophisticated animals have many similarities, but they are different in many ways; such as being trained, their personality, and means of marking their territory.…

To start off dogs have an amazing sense of smell that can be used in many different ways. The University of Pennsylvania researchers are currently training golden retrievers and german shepherds how to sniff out ovarian cancer. Dogs sense of smell can be used for amazing things like sniffing out bombs, finding missing people, or tracking down criminals. In my opinion dogs can do many amazing things with their nose and that is just one reason dogs are better than cats. But if this didn’t change your mind my next two points will for sure.…

To begin with, the reason why cats are more desirable is: cats are independent and can be left unaided. Alex Libber’s article from December 10th, 2014 on petplace.com states,”But because a cat is more independent, they can be left alone for longer periods of time. Although a cat will miss you, she doesn’t depend on you to be home right at 5 p.m. for a walk. If you go for longer periods, your cat will do well with a house sitter, but she can also get by without someone feeding and checking up on her twice a day.” This shows cats are independent creatures and can be left home alone. Clearly, cats are perfectly well off being home alone, while dogs are not. Dogs need you or a house sitter to feed, walk, and take care of them.…

For years people have been disagreeing about which is better cats or dogs. I think dogs are a whole lot better. One reason I like dogs better is because dogs can work as service dogs. They are trained to assist people with physical disabilities. Tasks that service dogs can do are helping with pulling wheelchairs, opening doors, and picking up objects as small as a dime. Service dogs help the disabled. Service dogs work with people that have disabilities such as Diabetes, MS, Cancer, Autism and Epilepsy.…
