Donald J Trump, an aspiring candidate from the republican was seen as a joke when he first launched his campaign. The republican party and the media alike dismissed him as a fad and claimed he would not gain traction. A candidate whom was once mocked with a counter-part candidate known as “Deez Nuts” from Wallingford, Iowa ended up becoming the nominee for the republican party. The politician Nuts was created due to the outrage with the frontrunners of each respective party running for the nomination, like Donald Trump. As primary season progressed and Trump swept states, newscasters still predicted the fall of Trump. The increased turn out in voters does not always mean they are pro-Trump but he is a source of the increased numbers.
